Michael Miu Had A Birthday Feast With The Cast

Micheal Miu Kiu Wai (苗僑偉) and the cast of “Casino Crisis” 《賭場風雲》 travelled to Philippines earlier to film outdoor scenes for the series. Throughout the whole trip, Bosco Wong Chung Chak (黃宗澤) was like a son to Michael, bringing him joy and fun. They even celebrated Michael’s birthday together over there. Bosco was prepared for this well in advance. Before heading off, he bought a sport jacket, packed it with him to Philippines, and gave it to Michael on the night of June 13th, Michael’s actual birthday. He claimed that Michael will look even cooler wearing the jacket, making Michael extremely happy. Hence, despite the hot humid weather, Michael was willing to put on the jacket to pose for a photo with Bosco.

The producer of the series, Cheung Gin Man (張乾文), also gave the birthday boy a huge birthday present. On the night of the Michael’s birthday, he let Michael watch the World Cup game, and said that the entire crew won’t need to work overnight and early next morning, so that they can celebrate. Futhurmore, the boss of the motel who sponsored their living accomodations also treated Michael and his friends to a crab feast. Everyone savoured the delicious feast. Michael joked that his birthday brought joy to everyone.

---------------------

Whilst filming on location in the Philippines earlier for the new series "Casino Crisis", Michael Miu and his 'adopted son' Bosco Wong had a great time and Michael also celebrated his birthday there. Bosco had made preparations in advance and had bought him a sports top as a gift. On Michael's birthday on 13th June, he received Bosco's gift and when he tried it on, Bosco kept showering him with praises about how good he looked in it and making Michael very happy indeed as he wore the jacket to have photos taken, despite the fierce heat.

The producer
Cheung Kin Man also gave Michael a great birthday gift, allowing him time off from filming to watch the World Cup match on that day and giving the cast and crew the night off to celebrate with him. Apart from this, the owner of the holiday camp where they were all staying also held a 'crab banquet' for them all as they enjoyed some delicious food. Michael laughs that it is good to make everyone happy on his birthday.

Gigi Leung Openly Discusses Seven-Year Relationship

Five months after the break-up between Gigi Leung and Ekin Cheng, she finally talks about their relationship of seven years and explained the reason of their break-up. She even acknowledged that she didn’t handle the affaire with Maggie Siu very well. She only wanted to win and didn’t care about the losses. In the end, it made her road more difficult to walk on.

After the official break-up with Ekin, Gigi has tried to leave quickly and to evade, but she has also faced a lot of negative questions. After a “healing period” of more than five months, Gigi is completely focused on her work now. This time Gigi has accepted an interview in order to promote her album. She even talked about her relationship with Ekin.

Gigi mentioned in the interview that it wasn’t marriage pressure that has caused them to break up. She also frankly said that too many version of their break-up has been spread around and she clarifies that it has nothing to do with marriage pressure. She expressed that she has always put her career first and has never thought of getting married. As for the true reason of breaking up, Gigi emphasized that they were too often away from each other and too little together. Gigi believes that love needs time to nurture it, but both of them were working hard on their respective careers. In the end, these two aspects were conflicting. Although the heart was there, the will wasn’t.

Definitely No Regrets
She also acknowledged that initially after her break-up with Ekin, it was very difficult to face. So she has decided to go to England for a month to plan how she would look at the future again. Also she disclosed that during her period of sadness she watched the movie “Perhaps Love”. Regarding the female lead’s choice towards love and career, she can entirely understand her feelings. That’s why she has cried from the beginning till the end as one can’t control grieving over a lost love.

Lovers breaking up happens all the time. In most circumstances the female will be pitied, but in Gigi’s case it was actually the opposite. Referring to the affair with Maggie (Siu) back then, many felt disgusted with her actions. Even Gigi acknowledged that she didn’t handle it well: “I didn’t know how to handle this matter. I only knew that if I was being pursued, it’s OK to accept such love. I thought that dating was simply dating and I didn’t know it would made my own road so difficult to walk on.” However, she certainly does not think that she has wasted these seven years. If you have loved, then you wouldn’t regret because you have been happy once! She also expressed that it was actually a blessing in disguise. If you don’t walk through one fate, another one will not come.

Not Possible Getting Back Together Again With Ekin
Currently, Gigi doesn’t have any contact anymore with Ekin, but she says they are still maintaining their friendship. Asked her whether they would get back together again, she indicated that she would not consider it. It’s more comfortable and relaxed being friends. However, she needs a transition period so that it would not be awkward when they meet up again. She also openly revealed her marriage standards: tall, handsome, not necessarily rich, has to have taste and understand how to enjoy life!

In addition, when she accepted the interview references were made regarding Mavis Hee being hospitalized because she couldn’t juggle career and love. Whether females have a harder time to bear with setbacks, she expressed that it is difficult to say in general. The most important thing is to find a method to relieve the stress. As for her, she would go travelling and choose to walk away! It doesn’t mean she is evading it, but she is temporarily avoiding to think of such heart problems. She will face the problem again when her mood is back to normal again.

Niki Chow Lai Kei's music company, BMA, helped her release a record handbook, in which fans can write down various notes in the book. The cover features a photo of Niki.

"Many fans are very creative and have sent me song lyrics and screenplays in the past. Fans can write in the record handbook and then give me the completed notes to read afterwards."

This is the first time that BMA has released a record handbook for their singers. Approximately 5,000 copies will be printed. Reporters pointed out that BMA takes care of
Niki very well. "Of course! If I come across a good creation, I will refuse the company's projects because the creativity of Hong Kong productions have lowered."

Yesterday, Niki appeared as a judge along with Jordan Chan Siu Chun at a family singing contest, 《一家人大合唱歌唱比賽》. The audience present included young as well as elderly family members, however, during a dance segment, Niki and Jordan cracked some impolite naughty jokes.

Esther Kwan Lost 40 Pounds After Pregnancy & Ready To Return Back To Work

Since Esther Kwan Wing Hor gave birth earlier to daughter, Brittany, it has not been 6 months timeframe yet, but she has already lost 40 pounds in weight! Esther joked and said that she doesn't mind having more babies to complete an entire volleyball team of players, as she is a slimming products spokesperson.

Earlier
Esther shot several ads for a slimming products company and announced that she is officially back to work again. This is Esther's 2nd year as the brand's spokesperson and aside from earning a good fee, the company did not require Esther to wear overly revealing clothes.

"The fees definitely amount to 7 figures! But the biggest benefit was that the slimming company allowed my husband, Nick Cheung Ka Fai to use their slimming services too, reducing his water retention and swelling! Nick always said that his waist is too thick; he saw my weight loss results so he wanted to try the services too!"

Although Esther has not completed her slimming process yet, she has already lost 40 pounds. Right now, she is focusing on slimming her arms and back. "My back has always been fleshy. After giving birth, I had excess meat in my mid-section. But my husband complimented my weight loss and said that my figure is still good and that the pregnancy did not stretch my belly skin. He encouraged me to have more children to make up a volleyball team!"

Watching her daughter grow older each day and become cuter and more lively, it has motivated Esther's desire to have more children. "Having 2 sons and 2 daughters would be most ideal; I'm not afraid of having more children! Since I had to work today, Nick is taking care of our daughter today. He's already a well-practiced day, so I'm not worried!"

In order to earn more milk money, Nick has been focusing on work and will be heading to Northern China in July to film a series for 1 month. Esther hopes to bring the baby and visit him on set then.

Gigi Lai: Natural Born Beauty Loving Goddess

Gigi Lai Chi's recent exposure increased due to "Dance of Passion." As Gigi is becoming busier, she has grown slimmer and more beautiful. Regarding beauty and skincare techniques, aside from drinking 8 glasses of water daily, sleeping and rising early, the most effective is having a personal dermatologist at home. As a result, any of Gigi's skincare needs can be easily taken care of.

A Treasure at Home
Gigi's younger brother, Lai Ying is a well known dermatologist. He takes special care of Gigi's skincare needs. Gigi said, "My brother is very attentive to my skincare needs, once he sees signs of slight skin problems, he will immediately provide products for me to apply."

"He suggested some alpha-hydroxy products for me to use. Despite filming in the desert for 'Dance of Passion,' I used his suggested products to protect against the sun as well as applying daily masks. This was the only way to protect against the harsh and constantly changing weather conditions in the desert and prevent skin dryness and wrinkle damage."

Loving the Internet
Many women who love beauty will enjoy shopping, but surprisingly
Gigi would rather go online. "Going online is a very private act; it's very calming and playing online games will make me very happy. The internet also serves as a way to stay updated in international news, beauty, fashion, and cars, which is my strongest interest."

When Gigi doesn't have to go to work, she doesn't like going out and can spend 10 hours online at home surfing the internet.

Challenging New Roles
Since winning the
Best Actress Award at TVB's Anniversary, Gigi looks forward to taking on more challenging roles, such as Takako Tokiwa's "Beautiful Life," acting as a wheelchair-bound individual or a country woman.

However producers feel that Gigi's features are more suitable to play professionals or well-off characters. Although Gigi is unable to take on different roles yet, she will likely have the opportunity soon due to her hard efforts.

My favourite is to spend a night in with a few friends at my home to chat and do some cooking, this would make me very happy."

Linda's self-preservation instinct is very strong, after a very painful experience, so this leaves her very untrusting of other people: "Since I was tricked, I have become very careful and the feeling of being tricked is difficult to bear and is very painful. To avoid this happening again, I will protect myself." Linda is known for her thriftiness and she would like to save money to buy a home for her and her family in Canada. However, she syas that if she meets a good man, then she will stay in Hong Kong and place her roots here, because she cannot guarantee her beliefs will not change after she finds love.

Linda Chung: 'I'm Not Sexy!'

When Linda Chung Ka Yan was crowned Miss Chinese International in 2004, she was only 19 years old. Since entering TVB, her career has been extremely successful, with only very fews rumors on occasion. Linda's series also received good ratings and her public image is very healthy. Since entering the industry for 2 years, Linda has learned and experienced a lot. Linda smiled and said she will try her best to focus on her performing career.

H= HIM Magazine L= Linda

H= After filming a series, have you ever been unsuccessful in removing yourself from your character and fallen in love with your male co-star?

L= No, I can easily remove myself from my past characters. But immersing into character can have a definite impact on real life. In one of my series, my character discovered a repulsive characteristic about her brother. When I spoke with my real-life brother on the phone, I suddenly burst into tears because I was afraid what if my real-life brother displayed the same repulsive traits? My brother was very scared about my reaction....

H= How do you define sexiness? Do you consider yourself sexy?

L= I'm not sexy at all! I think sexiness is the aurora you display and has nothing to do with whether you dress revealingly!

H= Are there certain roles you want to play?

L= Yes I want to act as tragic characters; the more tragic the character is, the more I want to play it!

H= What positive qualities do you think you have that make you a successful actress?

L= I don't think I'm beautiful and my figure is not good! But I'm hard working and punctual. Also I will not give up and fight until the last moment!

H= What do you think are your negative qualities?

L= I do not have enough confidence and can be mentally stressed out. It's easy for me to get anxious; hopefully I can ease my tension and focus on work.

Outside of the Camera
Honestly, it's hard to believe that Linda is without confidence. It's not her speech, but rather that she doesn't believe anyone finds her beautiful. Linda feels that many of her features are not beautiful enough, but fortunately she does not wallow in self-blame. Rather, she will continue to improve until she is satisfied. It turns out that Linda is an idealist!

H= What has been your most memorable experience?

L= During "Biter Bitten," I often had to do wire-work scenes. Despite the tiring process, I was very happy that people believed in me and cast me in that role. They believed I would qualify and I felt proud!

H= If you could choose again, would you have entered the beauty pageant? What hopes do you have for the future?

L= Yes definitely, I would enter pageant again as I do not regret joining the entertainment industry. I feel that my eyes have opened and my life experiences became richer. Since entering the industry, I have matured and grown personally.

Although entering the industry at 19 may be a little young and I may have sacrificed in some areas, but the younger you are, the more opportunities there are. There are benefits and losses, but I look forward to the positive rewards later.

As for the future, I hope to get married when I'm 30 and have children so that my parents can become grandparents. If there is an opportunity, I would like to fulfill my earlier dream of becoming a teacher. In the past, I wanted to teach primary school. Perhaps now, I can teach performing arts classes, to fulfill my [teaching] dreams.

Akina Hong Stole The Limelight By Showing Off Her Midriff

Ron Ng, Toby Leung, Louisa So and Akina Hong attended a promotional event for series "Men in Pain" yesterday, joining some couples in therapy to play games and enjoy each others company. Akina arrived at the event wearing a low cut V top that also revealed her midriff, becoming the focal point for the press and stealing the show completely from the leading roles. When Toby noticed her half way through an interview, her eyes widened as she exclaimed: "Wow! Very sexy!"

Accused of 'capitalising on her assets',
Akina replied flirtatiously: "Don't say that, you make it sound so horrible. (You are stealing the limelight?) Thanks for saying that, but I won a little bit of money on the football yesterday, so I am just quite happy and celebratory today. The show is doing well also, so I should wear something prettier to give you all some photos, especially as I have lost weight lately, (Your bust size hasn't changed?) Haha! Of course, I have a secret way to do this!" As there were some older people at the event yesterday, she was asked if she was worried she would scare them. Akina laughs: "They have experienced it and see the world and there are people with better figures than me that they have seen before, so I am just small fry." As for wearing a jacket during the games, she says the aircon was too cold.

As one of the leading stars,
Louisa's limelight was somewhat shadowed by Akina and she says that she has already give up, laughing: "I don't mind, she is just promoting the series and the most important thing is that she is happy." Then she said in a louder voice: "Thanks for your hard work Akina!" Asked if she feels she has lost out, Louisa says: "I don't mind, I am a pacifist and don't like fighting." Toby had originally planned to wear a tube top, but as she is suffering slightly from a cold, she changed her mind. Asked if she feels that she has lost out to Akina, she says graciously: "I don't have as good a figure as her. Even if I did, I wouldn't necessarily show it off like this." As for the series reaching a high of 36 points, Toby says she is very happy about this and if it reaches 39 points, she will take everyone out for dinner.

As soon as
Ron arrived, he darted into the toilets and it turned out that he has been suffering from lack of sleep and exhaustion, so he has had stomachache and cramps, even having to take a day off on one day. As for the series reaching an average of 35 points, he says that he is confident that the show will keep this good standard. As for Toby's pledge for dinner, he says: "I will take them out again after she has, no matter what the ratings are, I will take them out."

She says: "I am suffering so much, I am so hot that I don't have any appetite and I am keeping an eye on my weight every day because I am worried that if I don't eat, then I will go skinny again, so when I am not hot and my appetite returns, I will eat more to keep my weight up."

To avoid losing weight from too much activity,
Myolie is keeping her exercise levels to zero, depending on her assistant for everything. As for the reports that she may be damaging her health by such rapid weight gain, she smiles: "I am not worried, I have been checking myself and I am fine, okay?"

Amy Kwok & Patricia Liu Slap Each Other; Patricia To Reveal Bra At Patrick Tam

Amy Kwok Ho Ming, Patricia Liu Cheuk Kei and Patrick Tam Yiu Man were filming in Clear Water Bay for ATV's new series 《義無反顧》 "No Turning Back." In the series, Amy plays a legal assistant, while Patrick plays a lawyer. The scene spoke of Patricia scolding Amy, resulting in both women slapping each other. Amy said that she has often been slapped or she has to slap others due to filming. "But I would rather that I get slapped as it's less pressure."

Patricia's character suffered burns as a child due to contact with boiling water on her back. Patricia had scars pasted on her back for realistic results.

In the scene, Patricia had to pull up her shirt in front of Patrick Tam to show him her scars. Although a policewoman tried to stop Patricia, she will be revealing her bra strap. Patricia will also need to use her legs to seduce Patrick.

Patricia said that the scene is not considered too bold. "I'm only revealing my back this time. Revealing my bra is like wearing a bikini in my past slimming ads."

Patricia said she is looking forward to her scenes with Amy. "I have worked with Amy before and she's very nice. I'm will not be afraid of NG's."

In "No Turning Back," Patrick Tam's character's name is "Chin Chi Kong", who pledged to become a lawyer in order to clear his father's [unjust] legal accusations. During this process, Patrick's methods become questionable and will he pay a serious price by leaving behind morality and righteousness?

Other cast members in "No Turning Back" include Ken Tsang Kong, Deannie Yip Tak Han, Law Ka Ying and Hawick Lau Hoi Wai. The blessing ceremony took place on June 18th.

Studio Blessing For "Lush Fields Happy Times"

Myolie Wu, Andy Hui and Jack Wu took part in the studio blessing for new series "Lush Fields Happy Times", for which Myolie and Jack have both had to put on weight to play their roles. As Jack did not have enough time to put on enough weight, he has a fake belly to pad him out a bit. However, he has still gained 35 lbs, increasing his weight from 130 lbs to 165 lbs and his waist from 28 ins to 36 ins. With his fat belly in place, he and Myolie make a very amusing couple and were the target of the press' cameras, leaving leading male Andy standing to one side.

After cutting the roast pig,
Myolie was presented with the pig head and she joked: "It matches me quite well." She has raised her weight up to 146 lbs now, but there are rumours that the producer would like to get up to about 180 lbs. Myolie denies this, saying that the producer has actually told her to stop putting on any more weight because if she is any fatter, then it would be unconvincing that Andy would fall for her. Asked about whether the weight has any effect on her menstrual cycle, Myolie replies: "I don't know how they would know, but I haven't experienced this. My health is very good, so you don't need to worry about me." Talking of this series using her fat look as a selling point, but she has already revealed her image before the series has even finished, is she worried that the surprise will be spoilt when she show is aired? Myolie says helplessly: "I have to go everywhere, so it can't be avoided. (There are suggestions that you have been stealing the limelight from Andy?) No, I don't want that. The best thing is to share everything between us, otherwise the pressure will be very great. I will just do my best in my own role. You can't really say who is stealing whose limelight." As for Jack, he complains that he is not fat enough and would like to put on another 20 lbs. His weight gain plan is to drink vita-milk and just sleeping and eating and not going out to avoid sweating.

Andy is feeling the strain as the location filming is tagged onto studio filming, but TVB is a nice plateau, where good ratings will really boost your popularity. With the spotlight on Myolie, is he worried that she will steal the show? Andy says graciously that the series is all about working together and he hopes that Myolie will pull in the success once again. He admires Myolie very much and adds that if there is a role that will allow him to shine, then he does not mind putting weight on and turning down other work either, but he finds it hard to imagin what he would look like on the stage singing if he was so fat. Asked if he has any kissing scenes with Myolie, he syas that the script hasn't been written to that point yet, but if there is a kissing scene, then he will still respect the group ethic and even if it is a 'bed scene', he doesn't mind. Andy says that he feels like a newcomer, not knowing anything and always asking questions. The hardest thing for him to get used to is the last minute amendments to the scripts, challenging the cast to learn their lines 'on the fly'.

Myolie Wu & 250 Pound Chun Wong Share Striking Daughter/ Father Resemblance!

Myolie Wu Hang Yee's gained weight from 110 pounds to 145 pounds in order to film her new series "Fei Tin Hei See."

Myolie was filming a scene with actors Chun Wong and Wong Suk Yee yesterday at a mall, attracting the attention of many fans who took photos of the actors using their cell phones.

The 250 pound Chun Wong plays Myolie's father in the series and standing next to each other, they share a striking father-daughter resemblance!

Reporters asked if Myolie will be accepting dieting ads together with Chun Wong after the series finishes filming? Myolie said, "I haven't thought about this yet. Our main focus now is to make sure we play our characters well."

Chun Wong agreed that after Myolie's new weight gain, she does look like his daughter. Chun Wong weighs 250 pounds now and was at his slimmest weight of 130 pounds 30 years ago.

Chun also said that he will not be accepting any slimming endorsements with Myolie after filming wraps up. "My family members have encouraged me to lose weight too. But my weight-loss mehods will be more natural and focus on losing a few pounds at a time. Recent weight loss methods are too extreme, which are unsuitable for me!"

Earlier there were tabloid reports which claimed that Myolie was easily short of breath and that her menstrual cycle has been erratic due to her new weight gain. Myolie said, "The tabloid never interviewed me. If I had all the health problems mentioned in the tabloids, then how would I be able to work? Since filming started a few days ago, there has been so much news. But I understand that the tabloids have a tendency to exaggerate, otherwise their readership would be low. It's also a form of publicity for the series."

Recently there has been a doctor who recommended that Myolie should not lose her weight within a short period of time, as it will affect her heart negatively. "I still have to film scenes which require me to be chubby, so I have not thought about losing weight. My friends have not given me any weight loss recipes. On the other hand, many people have asked me how I have been gaining weight."

Bernice Liu All Covered Up To Hide Mosquito Bites

Bernice Liu Bik Yee was the spokesperson at the Alive Expo @ Portland Street in Mongkok yesterday, attracting several hundred fans in attendance. Despite the hot weather, Bernice appeared in a long sleeved shirt and jeans in order to hide her mosquito bites on her legs.

After performing 3 fast-beat songs, accompanied by rapid dancing sequences, Bernice went offstage to shake hands with fans. Reporters asked if any fans inappropriately touched Bernice in their overzealousness? Bernice said, "No, they are very friendly and everyone is very nice!"

Why was Bernice chosen to represent the Alive Expo? "My image is very healthy. Many Hong Kong residents think that Mongkok is unsafe, but tourists see it as a great place to shop. I am currently filming 'Breakthrough Action,' but TVB felt it was a very safe event, so they let me attend." Bernice also felt it was a good opportunity to promote her music album.

---------------------

Bernice Liu attended a promotional event yesterday at Langham Place and Portland Street in Mongkok as the street was closed off to traffic and several hundred citizens gathered to see her. Bernice sung three songs and during her third fast song, she ran the risk of being groped as she went over to shake hands with the crowds. As the press rushed forward to take photographs, there was a moment of chaos. Fortunately, probably due to the heat, then as soon as Bernice had finished singing, the crowds dispersed, leaving just a group of dedicated fans, who waited patiently.

Bernice wore a long sleeved top and long trousers to the event and asked whether she was so covered up because she was in Mongkok, she says: "I am not really that covered up, last time I was filming and I ended up being bitten on my legs by mosquitoes, so I covered up my legs this this time." With Bernice being selected by the organising committee to represent the traditionally rather seedy Portland Street, she was asked why she thought they had chosen her. She says: "Because I have a healthy image and this event is a very positive one. I am currently filming for 'Operation Breakthrough' so when the company heard about this event, they let me have time off to take on this job." As for the accepted view that the people in Mongkok are a little complex, Bernice says: "Hong Kong people find it complex, but the tourists love shopping here and the shopping centres here have improved things a lot." Bernice says that this event is like a carnival and the audience consists of all ages and families, so she is not worried about being linked to the red light image. Asked if she was scratched by the crowd when she shook hands with them, she says: "They are all very warm and everyone was very nice."
