Bernice At A 'Mix and Move' Dancing & Mixing Competition

Bernice Liu and DJ Tommy took part in a 'Mix and Move' dancing and mixing competition as judges yesterday and Bernice joined five dancers in the opening hip hop dance. Although she did quite well, she says that she had not rehearsed with the others before the show, because she has been busy filming for TVB and she learned the routine by watching the moves on an MP4 player between takes. She laughs that she has been doing hip hop in ancient costume and it looks very strange.

Asked if her co-star and former dancer Michael Tse has been teaching her, she says that he has not. At the moment, she is busy with her new series and every time she goes out on location, she is sweating so much that she has to change her clothes more than once and because it is hard work, she has lost a lot of weight and this is worse than filming fighting scenes. Asked if she has a fan, towel and a cold drink handy, she says that her mother has made soup for her.

Talking of the recent Gillian Chung incident, for Bernice who hails from Miss Chinese International Pageant, she says that when she is getting changed backstage, everyone will just be thinking about work and not have time to think about anything else. In order to prevent these things in the future, Bernice feels that the government needs to take action.

Joey Yung & Ron Ng Filming At Harbor

Joey Yung and Ron Ng were filming yesterday on the harbourside for "Cadets on the Beat" in a scene that tells of them chatting when someone falls into the water and Ron jumps in to rescue the person. However, in reality Ron did not dive in as a stunt double took his place. Afterwards Ron explained: "I do know how to swim, but because the scene required a direct dive into the sea, then I could not handle this, so we asked a lifeguard to help us out. (Have you ever wanted to be a lifeguard and watch the girls on the beach?) I have never thought about that, because the work is very boring and there is nothing to do in the winter. You can see more pretty girls working in showbiz."

In light of recent events surrounding Gillian Chung's incident being reported to the police in Hong Kong, Joey was asked whether she supports her decision. She says: "Of course! Definitely and seriously support her." As for the special debate show that TVB will be airing on Monday to support Gillian, Joey hopes to be present and that the crew will let her go. Otherwise she will be supporting Gillian in spirit.

As for the magazine going into second run, Joey says angrily: "It is so infuriating! They are so disgusting. They should be subjected to punishment by the law, a person was sent to prison earlier for taking photos up women's skirts and they were doing this for money, so that is inexcusable. This is not the first time that this magazine has done something like this and it is criminal, so it should not be let off. If someone sold these photos to the magazine, then the editor should be sent to prison. If they were taken by reporters, then they should be sent down as well. Closing them down will do nothing."

Ella's Most Memorable Moment

Since Ella entered the music industry she has co-operated with quite alot of artists. But she says that the most happy time was when she was working with Lau Ching Wan in "The Shopaholics". Recently she accepted a interview by 'Him' magazine, during this she had said "He had always been my idol, he has talents and is a good husband and also during "The Shopaholics", there was a scene where he to propose to me! It was a dream come true!"

Bernice Films Execution Scene

Bernice Liu has been filming an execution scene in her new series "Murder City Plot", where Sunny Chan plays the executioner and she had to kneel all day for the shoot, leaving her with bruises on her knees. In the 30 degree heat, Bernice had to wear her long costume and was so hot that she almost suffered from sunstroke. She smiled: "I had to cry all through this scene and it was very upsetting, so I managed to cry all day without using eyedrops."

When they shot close ups of Sunny bringing the sword down on her, Bernice was able to snatch some time to rest and she says: "After I had moved away, the blade flew off the handle and Sunny says that if I was there, I would have been injured, so I was very lucky and should go and buy a lottery ticket!".

Ron Ng During Rescue Scene

Ron Ng was filming in Yau Ma Tei for new series "Cadets on the Beat" in a rescue scene where he had to save a dog. The scene tells of how Ron is ordered to go and help rescue a dog for a child, but he slips and ends up landing in a pile of rubbish. As they needed to film from many different angles, Ron had to repeat the scene over ten times and this was very hard work for him.

Although it was hot and he was sweating a lot, Ron still did the climbing without a fear, but when it came to filming the falling scene, Ron stood to one side and photographed his body double carrying out the stunt for him. Asked why Ron had chickened out of the scene, he explained: "Usually these scenes will be shot by the stuntmen. If I did it, then they would not have a job. Even if I offered to do it, the director would not allow this. (They are looking after you?) They look out for everyone. I don't get enough sleep, so the company will not allow me to do these action shots because if I am injured then it will affect the whole team."

Ella & Ron: Rumours Again

Yesterday, Ella accepted a radio station interview. When asked if she got back together with Ron Ng, she laughed and said "I don't want to talk about it!" Ella also revealed that her ear, nose and throat has allergy and will be accepting 2 years of treatment. The doctor recommended that she should have one needle a month.

As for Ron, yesterday he was busy filming for <Cadet On The Beat>. When asked if he and Ella got back together, he immediately denied and said "Ella and I were only promoting for the series, the series has finished airing for so long, I don't want to reply to anything about the rumour anymore." (Successful getting back together?) "We've never started, how can we get back together? I'm saying it the last time, my career comes first."

The Sun Special Report: Bernice Liu

Bernice Liu has been in the industry for five years now and has made herself a strong position within TVB, dubbed as 'sexy fa dan'. Taking the step down this route produced a time of tough decisions for Bernice, leaving life in the schoolyard in Vancouver to a strange place that was Hong Kong and start afresh required a lot of hard work that is beyond comprehension.

Taking part in Miss Chinese International was a new start in life for me. I remember I was in Vancouver's UBC studying in my third year, with the opportunity to change from science to business administration, but the course needed a second language. Although my parents are both Chinese, I could only speak English and not a word of Chinese. Normally the courses lasted six months, but in order for me to learn the language more quickly, my friends suggested I entered a beauty pageant held by the local Chinese TV station. I ended up winning this and having the chance to go to Hong Kong and take part in the Miss Chinese International Pageant and with another stroke of luck, I won another award.

Taking the MCI crown, I suddenly became the focus of many people and it was a novelty to me. TVB sent someone to ask me if I was interested in entering the showbiz industry and there was a conflict in my mind. I was afraid I would not be able to adapt to the new life, because I love my family. My dad knows that I love to perform and show off myself, so he would rather give up his work in Vancouver to help me develop my career in Hong Kong. I am very grateful to him. The university let me put my degree on hold for ten years, so with the co-operation of all the factors, I had no worries and started to make my own world.

Arriving in Hong Kong, starting to adapt to a new life in a strange place was not easy and whether it was my living environment or the people around me, everything was different. However, I deeply believed that a person's success is dependent on how hard you have worked. I have some friends who have lived in Hong Kong for over twenty years, but because they refuse to adapt to the Chinese way of life, they are still unable to speak a word of Chinese.

I feel that I am quite lucky, as TVB arranged for me to film in "Virtues of Harmony" and I knew that this was a great learning opportunity as I could force myself to speak in Cantonese. As I could not read a word of Chinese, every time I got a script, I had to ask someone to add phonetics next to the words before I learned how to say it. I mispronounced many words into swear words and even turned around the four character phrases, causing many funny incidents. Fortunately, these days are passed now and I can reap the rewards today.

Showbusiness is only sparkling because there is a kaleidescope of the good and direct and the sly and scheming. Any artistes that appear with a threat are met with resistance and hostility that will harm every part. For Bernice's five years in the business, she has been in a position where she was being prodded and has risen to a position where she can sit comfortably and let the world go by. The reason she can do this is because she has an escape route that she can use at any time to run to another world.

Without even noticing, it has been five years since I entered the industry and there has been a lot of gossip and rumours in this time, especially a couple of years ago, when there was a lot of negative press about me falling out with so-and-so and fighting for awards. Earlier, a magazine accused me of being arrogant, but I decided not to ask or respond, what I don't see, I don't care about. I once heard Jessica Hsuan say: "For the direct personality, you will lose out in this industry." However, I don't like holding back and I hope that everyone can see the truest side of me. I have seen through the toughest criticisms and I believe that the world is round. If someone provokes you, they are doing their thing and I feel that that the world is very perfect, so no matter how you treat other people, then be it a week, a year or five years - it will come back to you.

I admit that my Cantonese is not good and that in my mind, I will try to piece things together, but still not be able to convey my message and my tone of voice is easily misunderstood. Like my TVB managers, I have had four in five years and sometimes they each have their own opinions and their working styles, so we need time to adapt, but I usually address the situation and not the person, so we always reach an agreement.

Although the pressure is large in the entertainment industry, I still cherish everything that I have, because you only have one life. Also, no matter what I do, my family will support me. Many people enter showbiz because they want to make money, I do not have this pressure and if one day I am very unhappy, then I can leave the industry at any time because I know I have many options, such as going back to study. When I am at my saddest, I have Mac (two year old dog) to keep me company and he can feel human emotions. I often talk to him about my problems and cry on the side of my bed, but he will come over and lick my tears. No matter how unhappy I am,when I see him, I will forget about the world of work.

Since entering the industry, Bernice has had an endless string of gossip and rumours. Hawick Lau played the role of interpreter and chauffeur and she has admitted herself that she gets on very well with Moses Chan. So who is the Mr. Right in her life? She just says that all will come clear when the time is right.

In the last five years, every time I filmed a series, there would be gossip and to be honest, these things really are beyond my control. For instance, when I was filming for "Virtues of Harmony", I was going about it blindly and I didn't know anything, so the company sent Hawick Lau to help me, so you could say that this rumoured boyfriend was given to me by the company. At the time I did not know my way around and so he even drove me around. He was like my manager and as my Cantonese was not very good, he helped me to translate and write sounds against my scripts. He really is a good man. Maybe our ages are quite similar and we got on well, so people thought that we were dating. At the time, I also got on well with Timmy Hung and Carlo Ng, but the press were only interested in the two of us.

Afterwards, I was linked with Sammul Chan, Bosco Wong and Moses Chan and personally I didn't mind too much. In the case of Moses, were were filming together for "Love Bond" and the viewers really accepted our on-screen couple personas, so many advertising sponsors asked us to work together. We joined forces to make money and this was no problem to me. Moreover we worked well together and although a lot of people think that we have an underground relationship, I will not say too much because I will leave it all to fate. Whether or not he is 'the one', then everyone will know when the time is right.

My first boyfriend came to Hong Kong to visit me last year and when we saw each other, we were both very happy. It is hard to describe the feeling at the time and I was suddenly very emotional. Maybe because of the circumstances at the time, where he had to go elsewhere to study, we felt it was a shame but we had to split up. Luckily we were very peaceful and now when we meet, it is like meeting up with an old friend. If you ask me whether there is a chance of getting back together with my ex-boyfriend, then it is hard to say because we have grown up now and I just know that after so long apart, we still feel very very close when we meet.

Bernice has a great figure and since her appearance, this has been the focus of attention. In her time in showbiz, the stories of her tossing her breasts around have far outweighed the reports on her singing or dancing talent and she is not surprised by this, but she does hope that the audience will change their focus and start appreciating her from a fresh angle.

I believe that in this world, there are no artistes who lack an urge to perform. I started dancing when I was four years old and after each performance, the applause of the audience would inject me with more passion and enthusiasm. Every time I went out to enter different competitions, winning and becoming the centre of attention, it was an earth shattering experience that filled me with endless pleasure.

I don't know if it is natural talent or the effect of nurture, but my desire to perform is extremely passionate and whether it is in front of a camera or on the stage, for me it is a truly enjoyable experience. Just entering the Hong Kong world of showbiz, then you have opportunities to sing, make movies and do television shows and I have tried TV and movies, so to be able to join Myolie Wu and Charmaine Sheh as part of the 'Lady in Red' album was a surprise beyond my expectations and of course a victory for me in this battle.

Singing has never been my strong point and when my first song "Truth" was released, many people were not aware of the 'truth' and did not know that it was me singing. It was only when this song made it into the karaoke boxes and became a hit, that the positive reviews came flooding in and that happiness cannot be rivalled.

For an artiste, working without rest or sleep into the early hours of the morning, they only hope for this moment of happiness. Later, TVB gave me the opportunity to continue on this and offered me two new songs with a lighter beat to tie in with my Hip Hop dance.

On the stage, I show off my best, hoping that the audience will lose themselves. In order to reach the best outcome, I think hard about my attire, but when the reports come out, it is always: "Wow! Your breasts are falling out!" The focus of the press is always on my figure, my breasts move with my body, what is so unusual? Of course, I understand how the showbiz industry works and even my father warned me about this before I entered the industry that meaningful and pointless reports are likely to come in waves. Women's figures are inherited in genetics and you can applaud what my mother passed onto me, so if you have to thank someone, then thank my worthy mother.

For artistes, aside from their fans, they cannot be without their families. Bernice grew up in Canada and her family are as close as ever as her father even returned with her to help develop her career. She cherishes deeply this model family and keeps in touch with them constantly by email.

The most shockingly emotional event for me happened at our village in Shunde. Our Liu Family originated in a village, where there are now 4000 villagers. When I found out that my father wanted to take me back to the village, I was incredibly excited and for me, I have always wanted to find out more about my ancestors, but growing up in Canada and not knowing much Chinese, I was totally ignorant of the Liu Family village.

The weather that day was very good and when I entered the village with my dad, there were already many people around and the villagers filled the road. I was stunned to see this and my father whispered in my ear: "The whole village is here today to welcome you." The scene was stunning and it touched me so much that there were hot tears in my eyes. Later, I went to the ancestral hall in the village and saw my name being added to the clan records, making me very emotional again. Life overseas means you speak and hear just English, but on that day, I was truly proud of my family name.

To this day, I still feel that not every family can be as warm and united as mine. The care that my parents give is the greatest. When I was young, every time I went out of town to enter a competition, I knew that I would be back in a day or two, but I would still cry my eyes out. My father gave up his job in Canada because I wanted to stay in Hong Kong for my career, so that he could come over and live with me. Sometimes my mother will come over too. Although my family is split over two places, thanks to technology, email and the internet, it is easy to share each others lives, but whenever it is Mother's Day or Father's Day, if there is time, then even if it involves a long flight, then we will try to be together.

When I was young, my mother would tell me stories of how she and my father met and I would listen as if listening to a fairy story. The snow would fall outside, but lying in my mother's arms, it was very romantic. They were married when they were 24, because their past was so romantic and this left a deep impression with me, so since I was young, I had an ambition to be married at the age of 24. However, as you grow up, you start to understand that this ambition is becoming more and more intangible. Firstly you are affected by your career and then the hardest part is finding a partner with whom you can spend the rest of your life with.

Kevin Cheng Held His First Concert In Eleven Years

Kevin Cheng held his first concert in eleven years on Sunday as he took centre stage at the Hong Kong International Trade and Exhibition in Kowloon Bay. Many showbiz friends joined him as guest performers and as well as rumoured girlfriend Niki Chow, others included Karen Tong, Miriam Yeung, Raymond Lam and Ivana Wong. Kevin's mother and TVB executives Catherine Tsang and Virginia Lok were also there to lend their support. Although Kevin and Niki both deny their romance, their fans seem to have accepted this already and when Niki appeared on the stage, the fans were frenzied. As they both have August birthdays, a birthday cake and some wedding dolls were produced for them as gifts and Niki laughed: "It's like a wedding party, isn'tt his a bit over the top? It is my birthday in August, but you don't need to go this far!"

Jacky Cheung worked with Kevin when he was still with Polygram and although he was not there in person, he sent a clip to give Kevin his vote of encouragement. Jacky told of how Kevin was forced to try his luck in Taiwan after his music career did not take off and when he was unhappy, he would talk to Jacky and ask for advice. Jacky says that he hopes Kevin will cherish this new opportunity and everything he has.

After this, Kevin sung Jacky's song "This Winter is Not so Cold", whilst doing a very stiff fan dance, that became quite comical. Even Niki mocked Kevin, telling him never to dance again, but she still scored him 100% for being so brave.

Miriam was the final guest star and she and Kevin talked about how they had met and then Miriam indicated that she has a new song looking for a partner for the music video and she would like Kevin to help her out. Kevin asked for permission from Catherine jokingly, but the executive took this all very seriously and after the show, she approached Miriam and told her Kevin had some time in his schedule to shoot the video for her. At this point, a rather sheepish Miriam apologised to Catherine, saying that she doesn't in fact choose any of her co-stars because this is left to the company to organise.

Kevin has rated himself 60% for this performance and he hopes that he will do even better in the future. He admits that dancing is not his strength and he hopes to improve this. As for the whole 'wedding scene' with Niki, is he quite happy with this? Kevin insists that he is not married yet. As for his fans' acceptance, he says that they just support their characters from "Under the Canopy of Love". When it was suggested that a lot of screen lovers get together, he disagrees and laughs that you can't pair Adam Cheng and Liza Wang together, even if they have worked as a pair so many times.

Kevin Cheng Rehearsing For Mini Concert

Kevin Cheng was rehearsing yesterday for his mini concert and apart from Kevin's performance, there is also a rather impressive guest list, including rumoured girlfriend Niki Chow, Miriam Yeung, Karen Tong, Raymond Lam and Ivana Wong. He also reveals that his mentor Lau Ka Cheung will also be there.

It has been eleven years since Kevin had his own concert and he says that he is feeling nervous and excited, plus there are a lot of friends that he has not invited such as Jacky Cheung. When the press asked him why he had not invited his ex-girlfriend Linda Wang, he immediately said shyly: "I did think about it, but she has married now. Jacky has recorded a clip for me and I will play it during the show. I felt that I did not want to invite everyone in one go, because I hope to have more concerts in the future and if I include any more top guests, I won't have any time to sing myself! (Why did you invite Miriam?) I have known her for a while now after meeting her when I filmed the music video for her song."

With reports that his mentor Lau likely to be arrested by the Nationalist Party (in Taiwan), Kevin says he has heard about this, but he feels it is not his place to ask if his teacher does not want to discuss it. They have spoken on the phone recently, but only about the concert and the music. He says he is already very grateful for Teacher Lau to come and support him.

A little while later, the news broke that Lau would not be attending the concert after all and when asked about this, Kevin indicated that he had only just heard about this. "Maybe he is just busy. I will call him after the show, but I am just preparing for the show now. I don't know how he feels, but I will respect his decision and I hope he will continue to be a happy and smiling Teacher Lau."

Charmaine Wants To Have 11 Kids

Charmaine Sheh was dressed as a Chinese bride yesterday as she took part in a promotional event for a bedding showroom in Mongkok's Pioneer Centre. Also at the event were lion dancers, which attracted a large crowd in a great atmosphere. When Charmaine arrived on a sedan chair, the nephew of the company's chairman Mr. Choi played the part of the groom in welcoming her, before posing for photos with her for the press on the bed.

Charmaine was happy to have experienced the chinese wedding carriage and believes that in real life, it will be very difficult to have a wedding ceremony on this scale. She says that her ideal wedding ceremony is a little simpler, but she will still satisfy her vanity by having the Chinese and Western ceremony with all the dresses, especially the Chinese dress with the golden pig charm as this is a special feeling that she would like to try.

Asked when she plans to get married, Charmaine says openly that she had thought about getting married at 27 , but now she is already 31 and she has still not confirmed her love, so she will not put a date on her own wedding. However, she would like to have children when she is married because she loves kids and smiles that she would like eleven to make a footbal team. She feels she will have to sacrifice her career when this time comes to look after her children. She is in no hurry though at the moment as she is concentrating on continuing her career.

Charmaine is in no rush to get married, but her grandmother is pusing her to get married, with Charmaine telling her that she has to make more money first. When asked if she had found her ideal man yet, she indicated that she is still looking, because a husband is for life and she would like to find a good one. Asked if current boyfriend Benny Chan is not good enough, Charmaine insists that she is single. So what is her criteria? She indicates that she is looking for someone with a kind and filial heart and the most important thing is that he must love children. So does Benny like children? Charmaine change the subject and evaded the question. Asked what her previous boyfriends have lacked? She says that she lacked time to spend understanding them because her work comes first and she does not have time to think about dating.

With the earlier reports that she was out partying late with Joe Ma,Charmaine explains that they were out celebrating a friend's birthday that night and she only met Joe when she arrived and did not know that he would be there. When it was joked by the press that after Benny, she finally has a new rumoured boyfriend after Benny Chan, Charmaine indicates that she does not want to be linked to a married man.

'Sweetie Maiden' Bernice

After having two songs on a recent compilation album, Bernice Liu's confidence in her singing ability is growing by the day and recently, she has been invited to sing a children's song duet with Myolie Wu. As they are both busy with their schedules, they have not been able to work together yet and Bernice had to record her own part first.

Nicknamed 'Sweetie Maiden', Bernice kept her beaming smile in the recording studio and she even stuck a pencil in her hair for a a laugh much to the amusement of everyone. Bernice admitted that she was particularly relaxed with this session: "It is a kids song! The only thing I have to remember is when I am singing, I have to raise the tone a little to become a kid myself. The lyrics are very encouraging and one line that reads 'a good competitor is a true friend' gives me a good feeling!"

Singing children's songs makes Bernice feel like time has gone backwards and she is very emotional: "I am very happy and hope that the company can give me more opportunities to sing childrens songs. (Are you challenging Tam Yuk Ying?) Don't say that! As an artiste, I have to try lots of things and sying childrens songs can bring much joy to everyone. I can regain my innocence too, so why not?"

Kevin At Ermenegildo Zegna Function

Kevin Cheng took part in a catwalk show for men's fashion line Ermenegildo Zegna yesterday, wearing a suit worth $50,000 and although this is the second time that he has appeared as a guest model, he was still rather nervous and seemed a little rushed when he showed off his clothes and making it difficult for the press to photograph him. He laughed: "I am in a hurry because I have to go back to TVB City to work."

Although it was Kevin's birthday on the 15th, he still had to work and magazine reports suggest that he was rather short-tempered whilst filming with Gigi Lai on that day and was ostracised by everyone. He responded to this with frustration as he said: "Of course not! I feel that the people who write these reports are very curious. I am not prejudiced against the paparazzi, but they were following me all night and I just smiled at them most of the time, but they chose to print the pictures of me not smiling, so I can't help that. A lot of things are unnecessary, but I will just reassure myself that I have done nothing wrong." As for suggestions that he does not talk to Gigi, he denies this, saying: "We do chat, but when we did, no-one was photographing us. (Do you feel you have a lot of negative press lately?) I think that artistes and the press are mutually antagonistic and even if artistes do everything right, there will still be negative press. Take Jacky Cheung being accused of assaulting a reporter for example, the most important thing is to have a clear conscience."

As for having to work on his birthday, Kevin still celebrated afterwards, when he went out for a meal. Asked what presents he received, he says that he has not opened many of his presents yet because he has to prepare for his concert in addition to his filming. Has he had any gifts from girls that he fancies? He thinks and then laughs: "No! I am looking for somebody. (Well are there a lot of girls who fancy you?) I think my fans fancy me, so there are a lot!"

Bernice At YSL Function

Designer label YSL held a fashion event earlier, attracting the attendance of many celebrities, including Melissa Ng, Bernice Liu, Fanny Sit, Vanessa Yeung, Brian Chow, Ana R and Amanda Strang. Bernice was dressed in a retro look dress and she explained that she has to go back to work on her series "Murder City Plot" after the event.

Bernice often likes to watch fashion shows and she admits to buying a lot of designer clothing since entering the industry. She says that she is not top to toe in designer gear, but sometimes she likes to mix and match with t-shirts and jeans. She will only dress up for big shows like the Anniversary. Charmaine's Holiday In Hawaii

After a month holiday, Charmaine Sheh finally return to HK. Yesterday, she went on 15/16 gameshow with Miriam Yeung, Eason Chan and Raymond Lam. When asked where did she went for holiday, Charmaine replied that she visited her mum in Hawaii. "There's some problem with her lungs, so she have to underwent a minor surgery. I went there to accompany her."

Charmaine also added that because she bought some chinese herbs, she asked her aunt to accompany along because she doesn't know how to prepare them. With her mum now recuperated, Charmaine feel relieved enough to return to work. Charmaine indicate that she wasn't tanned because she didn't expose herself too much under the sun during her stay in Hawaii.

As Charmaine passed by when MHK candidates were having their screen test, she was teased by reporters who asked if she's coming for the audition. To this, Charmaine joked: "I wish so too! But I joined MHK in 1997, which was nearly 10 years ago!"

Tavia Yeung has become spokesperson for the Be A Lady Beauty Centre for their breast enhancement and sculpture system and in order to prove the results of the product, she joined three models to have her bust measured to compare with the results in a hundred days time to prove that the product has worked.

Being measured in public, Tavia was not embarrassed as she measured up as a 31B and she smiled: "It's okay! There is nothing I cannot show. (What measurement would you like your bust to be?) I hope to be a 33C." Asked about her fee, she smiles that it is very good and this product needs to be worn for ten hours a day, but she has to film so is she worried that she will not have enough time to wear it? The organisers had arranged for the models to try the enhancement product and it looked quite large and bulky, but Tavia says that she has tried wearing it for five or six hours and she did not feel uncomfortable and she felt good because at least she does not have to take pills or have injuections and it will not reduce in time. Having previously said that she likes her flat chested figure, why is she now looking to enhance her breasts? She says frankly that when she was filming "Casino Crisis" people laughed that her pads were very fake and whenever she removed her pads, people would laugh at her and be surprised at her real figure. This hurt her, so she thought seriously about improving her figure.

She insists that she is not looking to go down the sexy route, but a beautiful shape will make her look even better in some outfits and the only problem she can envisage is that she will have to buy herself a new set of clothes. The blessing ceremony for new series “Murderous City Scheme” in the presence of Bernice Liu, Angela Tong and Sunny Chan. Bernice said: “I have already filmed two weeks for this series and this time it is indeed quite exhausting. This is because we often have to go to the outback for outdoor scenes where I have been bitten by many mosquitoes. Even my face was bitten twice!” Bernice hasn’t yet cooperated with the majority of the cast, but the collaboration has been a very happy one.

There have been many rumours about the breakup of Deep Ng and Nancy Wu, with reports that the appearance of third party model Jacqueline Chong being the cause of this. Ron Ng joined Thai reality TV contestant Tui at an event at the Thai TV station yesterday. As Ron's series "Triumph in the Skies" is currently airing in Thailand, Tui sees Ron as his idol and as Ron demonstrated some dance moves from Japanese Series "Densha Otoko", Tui took the opportunity to learn from him.

Despite once being a dancer, Ron has been criticised about not being able to dance,but at yesterday's event, he performed bravely, as the press announced that his dancing skill has returned, but Ron smiled confidently: "It never went away!" Ron has a nicely tanned complexion and he laughs that when he was young, he and his elder sister were mistaken as Indians. Asked if he was unhappy about this, he said: "I was not unhappy, I have some Indian friends and they are handsome men and pretty girls. (Do you hope to find an Indian girlfriend?) I would like that!"

Ron indicates that he has learned some basic Thai from the event and when it was mentioned that the Thai pronunciation sounds like Chinese expletives, he says: "I will have to hear more before I speak it, that will make it more accurate." For Lau Ka Ho’s new series, Moses Chan Ho (陳豪), Bosco Wong Chung Chak (黃宗澤), and Tavia Yeung Yi (楊怡), were filming a water scene at the Sai Kung beach last Saturday night (August 12th). The story speaks of a naive guy (Moses) who had just had an argument with his family, so he called out his good friend (Bosco) to chill out at the beach. Under the extremely hot weather, Bosco was more than happy to know that they would be filming a water scene, appearing on the set in a wifebeater and shorts. Not only did this show off his well defined muscles, but he also exposed his “two points” (nipples). On the other hand, Moses, who was always dubbed the “King of Abs”, was clearly a lot more conservative, showing up in a full body wetsuit. After soaking in water, Moses’ suit tightly wrapped his figure, revealing his belly. Looks like it’s about time for Moses to get a good workout.

In the extreme heat, Bosco, who had changed into a wifebeater and shorts, appeared very excited about this scene, often walking to the shore to play with the water with his feet. In contrast, “Lady Killer” Moses would rather suffer in sweat, insisting on wearing a full body wet suit.

After the two of them completed the water scene, Moses’ suit became tightly wrapped against his body, revealing his belly and thick thighs. It was no wonder Moses often complained that he needed to keep fit recently. On the contrary, after getting wet, Bosco was not shy about letting people admire his toned body. However, every time he got in and out of the water, he would cover his lower body with a towel, afraid of exposing himself down there. Kevin Cheng Will Celebrate Birthday On The 15th

Kevin Cheng will be celebrating his birthday on the 15th of this month and yesterday, he had an early celebration with over a hundred fans, attended by special guest child star Jacky Wong, with whom Kevin had earlier filmed an ad with. Kevin received many gifts from his fans and then cut the cake. When asked how old he is, Kevin says that since he turned thirty, he has started counting backwards, so he is probably younger than Alan Tam's eternal 25, so he would rather not say.

On his birthday this year, Kevin will be filming in the studio. He says: "Every year, I will met with my fans and this year I decided to celebrate my birthday with them." Asked what gift he would like to receive, he indicated that he would like his record will do well and from what he has heard, it is doing quite well.

As for his birthday wish, he hopes for good health. Asked if he would like to find a partner, he smiles that this cannot be rushed. He explains that he has had an illness before and if he is ill, then even if he had an opportunity to make money, this would be useless. In the past, he has stayed in hospital before and was not able to eat anything or do any work. So is he looking after himself more now? Kevin says that he will try his best to look after his health, but sometimes he has no choice but to work through the night.

Although there is a few days until his birthday, Kevin has already received a necklace from his friends. Has Niki given him anything? He smiles that she hasn't, but if she buys him something, then he will get her something too because she also has a birthday this month. Will he invite her out for dinner? Claire Yiu's latest set of ads for her slimming company sponsors was released recently and she is very happy to be spokesperson for the company.

In order to maintain her perfect figure, then Claire has been dieting in addition to her weekly visits to the slimming centre. The shoot took ten hours to complete and she laughs that she is quite resistant because she has become accustomed to it from filming series. Michael Tao and Ron Ng were filming yesterday for "Cadets on the Beat" in a scene where experienced officer Michael is taking new rookie Ron on the beat, but they meet a drunkard, who is sick over Ron before throwing beer and rubbish at him. Ron says: "This vomit is made from biscuits, milk, fruit peel and a little alcohol and is very lifelike. (Have you met drunks like this in real life before?) Of course not! If I see them, I will avoid them immediately and not approach them or stick around."

Wearing a police uniform for the first time, Michael says it is hard work: "This is my first time in the uniform and I never realised there would be so many rules around it. I am not allowed to smoke or sit down and can only take my cap off. This is to maintain the image of the police, so I have to comply. My legs are aching from standing for so long, but I have cut down on smoking since filming this series." Michael laughs that there is more to come as he adds: "This is nothing compared to when I have to go to PTU for training. I will be climbing hills, doing fitness training and canoeing, so it will be very tough."

Lau Ka Ho’s 40-episode long series held their blessing ceremony yesterday. The cast, including Lee Si Kei (李司棋), Yoyo Mung Ka Wai (蒙嘉慧), Tavia Yeung Yi (楊怡), Moses Chan Ho (陳豪), Bosco Wong Chung Chak (黃宗澤), Raymond Lam Fung (林峰), and Lai Lok Yi (黎諾懿), were all present. It just so happen that both Yoyo and Tavia have their birthdays in August, so the producer prepared a birthday cake to celebrate with them. He also asked Bosco and Raymond to give birthday kisses to each of the two birthday girls, but Bosco and Raymond would rather play “brokeback” and kiss each other than kiss the girls. So the two female leads just kissed each other to cover up the awkward situation.

In Lau Ka Ho’s long series, Bosco plays a wealthy man with assets totalling to 600 billion dollars, so he appeared dressing very classy. In the entire series, he only has a single pair of jeans. He said, “The company helped me found a lot of sponsors. Basically, I didn’t really need to use any of my own clothing. Only the glasses and the casual shoes are my own.”

Bosco expressed that they are trying to meet a deadline, so they are filming extremely quickly. Does this mean he would be competing with rumoured girlfriend, Myolie Wu Hang Yee (胡杏兒), for the anniversary series title? He laughed and said, “I don’t know. And even during the anniversary period, series can be aired at different time slots. Of course, I obviously prefer having it aired at 9pm, since there’s generally more audience. Kevin Cheng and Kenny Kwan together with newcomer Will and child star Jacky Wong have signed as spokespersons for two new design ranges and a special signing event was held yesterday.

Kevin indicates that he has always been interested in the world of design and the organisers have agreed that if he was to buy a property, they will provide him with all the design and engineering work and furniture for it. Kenny Kwan held his second autograph event yesterday, where 300 lucky fans were able to meet him. Before this, he took part in an opening of a Japanese Electricals Store together with Kevin Cheng and child star Jacky Wong. Kevin is back in the music industry after eleven years and his new compilation album went on sale yesterday. He says that he will not be nervous about this and just face what comes because he has matured a lot now. After 11 years away from the music industry that launched his career, Kevin Cheng's new album will be released tomorrow and he personally went to buy a copy early to present to his mother.

Kevin Cheng was filming his music video for new song "Unbearable" (Mo Ho Noi Ho) earlier, using his own experiences and ups and downs as a theme, telling of how his career and love had fallen to a low point and life was throwing many tests at him but he was just wrapping himself up in his troubles. Then he finds a release and the shows his new energetic and positive approach to life. Although Kevin appears very stylish in the video, the reality was that it was very hot and stuffy on the set and he was sweating all over despite not having a top on. The cameraman complimented him and Kevin didn't mind the heat, after all he was showing off his great figure that he has worked on recently.

Master Lau Ka Cheung has been invited to be a director for this MV and Kevin says excitedly: "I was very touched that Master Lau would write a song for me and help film my MV. I am very thankful to him and I will never forget him."

After the weathering of his experiences, Kevin is now mature and stable and battling the music industry once again, he will cherish even more the opportunities that he has found again. Even if he is busy filming series, he would rather cut short his rest time to record a better song or promote his album.

Raymond Lam Is Prince Charming

Raymond Lam appeared as a Prince Charming at the 4th Duet Singing Contest in Xiamen earlier for the opening and as a guest performer, singing a song entitled "Meeting in Xiamen". This contest is the biggest duet competition in the world and even Chairman Hu has sent his best wishes for the event. Raymond is honoured to be invited to take part and said happily: "I feel a great honour to have this opportunity because all the contestants are winners in their own right, so I am quite nervous."

Although there were many great singers at the competition, totalling 400 acts from 80 different countries all around the world, Raymond's performance was great too and he received rousing applause from the audience. As his song is not a pop song and is a rather classical piece, there was a level of difficulty for him, but as Raymond has studied vocal pitch and has a musical background, he even won the praise of Xiamen's mayor for his performance. When Raymond was asked if he is happy with his performance, he said modestly: "Not really, I felt that I could have been even better because I have only rehearsed it properly a few times because I have only just returned from filming in Shanghai. I really was quite nervous because as well as many professional winning singers present, I am back in my own city, so I am taking this event very seriously." As this was a live broadcast event, many people were able to tune in and watch the show, so no wonder that Raymond was quite nervous. After the performance, he breathed a huge sigh of relief.

The organisers invited Raymond to perform at this show because they liked his appearance in a special show for his former school and they felt he had a very healthy image. During rehearsals, many people asked for Raymond's autograph and to have their photographs taken. As Raymond hails from Xiamen, he felt like he was returning home with glory. Raymond's mother even made him some special soup to help keep his throat in top condition. His parents and many relatives and friends still live in Xiamen as well as many of his fans, who went to the airport to meet him and present him with flowers and gifts. Raymond could not stay for too long though as he had to return to Hong Kong to film for Lau Ka Ho's new series.

On the night before last, Bosco Wong Chung Chak (黃宗澤) and Tavia Yeung Yi (楊怡) were filming a passionate kissing scene under a signal 3 typhoon. Just when they were about to film the scene, the weather suddenly worsened. Tavia, who didn’t want to cancel and refilm the scene again, rushed the crew and said, “Hurry up! We’re kissing no matter what!” As soon as she said that, Bosco teased her, and said that she was so eager.

In Lau Ka Wai’s new series, Bosco and Tavia engaged in a passionate relationship. The series spoke of Tavia, who was a married woman, wanting to break up with Bosco until after she officially filed a divorce. They were filming it for the third time that night, when a signal 3 typhooon was issued. Bosco and Tavia cooperated many times as a lovers, so it was not surprising that the passionate kissing shot was successfully completed in one take. They definitely had a lot of chemistry. However, as soon as the shot was completed, Tavia said, “Wow, my upper lip has so much saliva!” Bosco retaliated by saying, “My bottom lip has a lot of saliva too!”, creating a very humourous scene.

This is the fourth time Bosco is working with Tavia. Fortunately they successfully completed the shoot in the end.

Having played lovers before, there were no obstacles for Bosco and Tavia, so little wonder that they only took one take to complete the scene as they worked together well. However, after the shoot, Tavia exclaimed: "Wah! There is a lot of saliva on my lips!". Not to be outdone, Bosco replied: "I have a lot of saliva on my bottom lip too!" causing a lot of laughs.

Having worked with Tavia now on four occasions, Bosco says: "I don't want to have to be sorry to her again!" Ron Ng & Kate Tsui On The Set Of "Cadets on the Beat"

Kate Tsui was filming yesterday for "Cadets on the Beat" in a scene where she had to chase her mother played by Lo Koon Lan down the street. The story tells of how they are almost knocked over but her cousin Ron Ng rescues her at the last moment. Unfortunately, just as they shot this scene, the heavens opened and the rain stopped the filming, so the scene will need to be re-shot. In the show, Kate has a secret crush on Ron and she laughs: "I don't get him though because he really just treats me like a cousin, so there is nothing I can do. For the show, I have had to cut my hair short and I have been doing a lot of sport, so I am very toned." She also reveals that when she entered Miss Hong Kong, she had already worked with Ron because Ron was the guest performer and he had accompanied her onto the stage. Ron says: "I didn't know if I had to pick her up, but I wasn't afraid of not being able to lift her because I had eaten breakfast and when I was a dancer, I was always the 'base' and was trained to pick up the girls. I have a nickname called 'King of Bases' and I am used to lifting and holding people."

Sonija Kwok was also filming yesterday for "Cadets" back at TVB City and she revealed that she had wanted to become a police officer when she was small and when she was a flight attendant, she had decided to apply to become an officer, but when it came to handing in her application, the female police officer suggested she should enter Miss Hong Kong. Later, on the day of the interview, she was due to fly and had to give up on the idea. Thinking back to winning Miss Hong Kong, Sonija is grateful to the suggestion she received from the police officer, if not then she may not have the success she does today.

Kevin Cheng has been photographed by a magazine visiting the Tin Hau temple to pay his respects and light the 'Seven Star Lantern' to pray for his health. There are also rumours that TVB executive Virginia Lok has introduced him to a Thai priest for advice. Kevin responded to this on the phone yesterday, saying: "I do go to pay respects regularly, but I am not overly superstitious. It is just for peace of mind. Strictly speaking, I don't follow any particular religion and I do not have a shrine at home. (Were the three Thai people offering teachings?) No, they are image consultants from Thailand."

Kevin Cheng Embarrased By Photographer

Kevin Cheng is back on the music scene and his new album "Kevin Cheng's New Songs and Compilation" will be released on Saturday 5th August. Kevin is very grateful for the chance to release his album. The design department of his record company has created a homely man look for him, wearing a white top and boxer shorts and giving everyone a nice surprise.

At first, Kevin was a little embarrassed with this look and asked the photographer to let him warm up with a long sleeved top. After this, he took the plunge and got into his vest and boxers, cooking at a kitchen counter. Kevin proved that he is not just a pretty face as he showed off his kitchen skills, only slipping up when he was chopping the sweet peppers and onions, when he managed to get the pepper seeds all over the place. As a house-husband, he was also arranged to do some ironing, but he was asked to burn the clothes this time! Kevin later admitted that he has never ironed his own clothes before.

The shoot went smoothly and was good fun and after this, the photographer asked him to sit on the table. After Kevin obediently complied, the photographer then suddenly called out: "Open your legs!" A rather stunned Kevin did not know how to react and joked timidly to the photographer: "You are the first person to ask me to do that!" causing plenty of laughs from the crew.

Rumours of Bosco Wong Chung Chak (黃宗澤) and Myolie Wu Hang Yee (胡杏兒) long began when they were filming “War of In-Laws” 《我的野蠻奶奶》. Although the two of them denied claims that they were dating, a recent report indicated that Bosco, who lives in Shatin, had already moved into Myolie’s house. The two of them had allegedly started living together a month and a half ago. Bosco was also photographed by the media leaving by taxi around Myolie’s condo. Reports also said that the bed noises produced by the two of them were very disruptive, resulting in complaints by neighbours. Yesterday, Bosco stumbled on his words when trying to respond to the allegations. At first he said that he was coming out from Kowloon area. Afterwards, he said that he took the taxi to work from Shatin, making contradicting statements.

Bosco said that he hasn’t seen the news, but he denied living together with Myolie, insisting that they are purely friends. When asked where he took the taxi from on that day, he said he came from the Kowloon area. “(Were you visiting Myolie?) When I was photographed by her door, you say we’re living together. When I was photograhed driving her home, you say I was chasing her. So I just treat these reports like a joke. Each of the guests were presented with a token of thanks from host Cha Siu Yan, which was a gold plate with a letter on it, representing different meanings. Justin received 'M' for 'make money' and 'make music. Stephy received the letter 'A' for Grade A, but she mistook this for meaning 'A cup' and called out: "I am not that small!" Bosco received the letter 'G' for 'Good', but his good friend Ron joked that this was 'Good Girl'.

With new rumours linking Bosco Wong and Myolie Wu, there are suggestions that the two are living together with photographs of Bosco in a taxi near Myolie's home. Bosco was asked about these rumours by the press and he seemed a little awkward, insisting that he and Myolie are just friends and are not living together.

During the event, Bosco had to make sweet dumplings and his partner Ron Ng not only did not help him, but even laughed that his dumplings were Myolie. In response to the taxi sightings, Bosco gave the confused response: "It's up to the taxi which way it goes." I am now saving up for a new apartment and to get married. The money I have earned this year from ads is enough to keep me going for several years." Asked if he will get married, he says that he has not found the ideal partner yet and if he was to get married now, he would feel like he is forsaking the company for giving him so many opportunities. In order to calm the public rage, TVB intends to air the series on the Jade Channel sometime next year.

In Taiwan, TVB long had their eyes on Mike He, and even signed him as an artiste under TVBS. It was said that TVB specially arranged for a him to visit Hong Kong so that he can meet senior executives Tsang Lai Jun and Leung Ka Sue. They even filmed clips of him in modern and ancient costumes at the Tseung Kwan O TV City in the hopes of finding him a suitable role in a future series.

TVB had their eyes set on the Mainland and Taiwanese market. Many future series will be filmed in collaboration with CCTV. Therefore, they plan to send their Taiwanese artistes, like Mike He, Justine Ji (紀文蕙), Lin Li Wen (林立雯), Lin Ye Wung (林逸宏) to Mainland China to expand their career, while Miss Chinese International Ina Lui (呂怡慧) is scheduled to work in Taiwan.

When verifying this with the associate director of the TVB resource department, Lok Yi Ling, she admitted that Mike He did indeed make a visit to Hong Kong earlier, but she denied any claims about TVB facing a scarcity of “Siu Sangs.” After all, every one of them are TVB artistes, and can be considered a big family. She hopes to provide more opportunities to them according to each of their strengths.

Kevin Cheng and Gigi Lai were filming yesterday for TVB's new series "An Easy Life" in Causeway Bay's Times Square, attracting many onlookers in the busy mall and even causing traffic chaos. As they took the child star across the road, Kevin broke out in a bit of a sweat and Gigi had to wipe his brow for him. Despite this, Kevin said: "I have never looked after children before, but I have wanted to do it for a long time." During their breaks, many people came over asking for photos and complimenting them on their good looks. Gigi says: "Being surrounded by people is okay because it helps to break down the distance with the viewers. It just gets a bit warm!"

Raymond Lam Not Worried About TVB Signing Mike He

Raymond Lam and Sharon Chan took part in an event for vision charity Orbis yesterday as guest judges and prize giving guests for a children's talent competition. They also took part in a symbolic gesture along with four children, breaking through some black balloons with short swords - symbolising 'bringing children out of the darkness of blindness'. Sharon has about 1000 degrees short sightedness and she laughs that this was down to watching too much TV and doing homework lying down as a kid.

Sharon says: "I really regret not looking after my eyes when I was younger and although I can wear contact lenses, sometimes when my working time is very long, it is very hard on my eyes. Once when I was driving, my eyes were so dry that the contact lense fell out." To accommodate her work, Sharon did think about having laser eye surgery and had prepared for this, but it was cancelled in the end because she had to film. Sharon adds: "Although I have heard from my doctor that there are some side effects from laser surger, but I think this will be later in life. At the moment I still have to work in this industry, so I would rather take the risk and do it. At least it will benefit me in the immediate future."

With the recent news that TVB Chairman Sir Run Run Shaw has been admitted into hospital and the possibilities of a change of ownership of the company, Raymond says that someone had mentioned this to him before and he feels that a change of management may not be a bad thing because new investment would give more opportunities and a fresh approach. Moreover this would have little effect on the artiste department anyway.

As for the news that TVB has signed Taiwanese idol Mike He, is Raymond worried about this new threat? He says that he will just do his own work and the company will promote newcomers all the time anyway and Mike is not the only newcomer they have signed. He says: "Every artiste already has their work arranged up to next year, so it will have no effect on my work." As the reporters complimented Mike on his looks. Sharon tried to make things less uneasy for Raymond by saying: "No matter how good looking, he is never as good as 'big brother' Raymond."

Raymond adds that it is a good thing for the company to sign more people because he has worked with most of the artiste department already and some fresh faces wouldn't go amiss. Although Mike He is very popular in Taiwan, Raymond has never seen him because he rarely watches Taiwanese series . He feels that the differences between Taiwan and Hong Kong are very great because the Taiwanese series are very idol-centred, whereas he is currently working towards becoming a true character actor.

Returning to the subject of eyes, Raymond says that he has short sight in one eye and long sight in the other, which he inherited from his parents. He jokes: "It's a good balance." He says that sometimes when he is filming and has not had enough sleep, then he has to put plenty of eye drops in to reduce the redness and swelling. He knows this is not good for the blood vessels, but he has to put up with it.

Kevin Cheng: My Mother Thinks I Am Better Looking Than Mike He!

Kevin Cheng joined Nancy Wu, Natalie Tong and Elaine Yiu at a charity T-shirt selling event and as well as taking part in the selling, he also played games with the public. The proceeds for the sale will be donated to Orbis. For Kevin who suffers from astigmatism, but not short sightedness, he has found his vision a little blurry lately and he thinks he might be suffering from long sightedness due to old age, so he will need to take steps to protect his vision.

As for reports that Taiwanese star Mike He will be coming to film in Hong Kong for TVB, is Kevin worried about this threat? He says lightly: "He speaks Mandarin and I speak Cantonese, so our roles are different and our cultures are different. He will probably play a Mandarin speaker, so there isn't much conflict." Kevin also feels that everyone should show their own talents and he has worked with Thai and Singaporean artistes in the past and this has gained him a lot of experiences. Who is more handsome in comparison? Kevin laughs: "Haha! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, my mother thinks I am better looking!"

Talking of the news of Sir Run Run Shaw's health and the changes at the TVB top, Kevin says that this is not his concern because it will not affect him.

Nancy performed a song on stage, but seemed a little out of tune. She says that it was because she has been busy lately and has not had time to practise her singing, but she hopes she will have the chance to sing a theme song in the future.

Yesterday Kevin Cheng was at a t-shirt charity. Regarding Mike He signing with TVB to challenge the four siu sungs, Kevin is also a victim of it. He said, "I don't have any opinions. Everyone will work on their own things. He can speak Mandarin as a Taiwanese person and I'll speak Cantonese as a Hong Kong person. There aren't any conflicts between our roles." Ron Ng filmed "War and Destiny" earlier opposite Myolie Wu and although the series is yet to be aired in Hong Kong, it is already available for download illegally from the internet. Asked about whether the company will be affected by this, TVB external affairs assistant chief Tsang Sing Ming responded: "We have always discouraged viewers not to partake in these illegal activities that violate the rights of the copyright owners. If they are found to do this, then we will instruct our legal teams to contact them and start proceedings against them."

Ron Ng To Demonstrate A Window Cleaning Robot

Ron Ng took part in the opening of a science and environmental event in Tseung Kwan O yesterday where he not only helped to launch the event, but was also asked to demonstrate a window cleaning robot. Reverting to his childhood in response, a playful Ron was very excited when he played with the robot. Talking of the environment, Ron says that he has shown an interest in this from an early age as his mother has taught him to sort out the plastic from the aluminium and recycle them properly and also to donate old clothes to environmental organisations. As a result his awareness of the environment is quite strong.

Ron's new series "Cadets on the Beat" has begun filming and as Fiona Sit is due to start shooting another film soon, the crew have been busy completing her scenes, working through the night and leaving the cast without much time to sleep.

Asked about the recent rumours that TVB will soon be sold off because of Sir Run Run Shaw's deteriorating health, Ron says he is not worried about this as he believes the company will arrange what is best for everyone. He will just do his own job well, because the only thing he is worried about is having his pay cut!
Melissa Ng was also asked about this matter in another event and she says that she is just a small potato, so it would not affect her very much, but she does hope that Sir Run Run recovers soon. Cherrie Kong says that she doesn't really know much about what is happening.

Bernice Liu At A Kid's Modelling Event

Bernice Liu joined model Janet Ma and children's TV host Lulu Koi for a Kid's Modelling event as judges and Janet and her son Wong Yuek Wing gave a demonstration on the catwalk as little Yeuk Wing showed that he has inherited his mother's genes as he did the walk very professionally.

As well as being a guest, Bernice also did a dancing contest with some of the children, but even before she had performed, she had already admitted defeat: "I will definitely lose because they are smiley and sweet, so the two little ones will win over the audience no matter how they dance! The two older ones have been practising hard, unlike me because I have been busy filming, so I will definitely lose to them!"

Bernice has a great talent for dancing and she was very happy that the dance-related events are inviting her to take part: "I feel that children in Hong Kong are very hard working and have a lot of pressure. Dancing can help to de-stress as well as develope one's confidence. It was a shame that there was not as much extra-curricular activities in Canada for me, otherwise it would have come in very useful for the beauty pageants. (Do you have plans to open a dance school?) At the moment I would like to learn to be a good artiste and do my acting job well first." Bernice headed out to America yesterday evening to shoot a secret ad, with the short trip lasting just three days.

The marriage of Roger Kwok and Cindy Au took place earlier like a lightning bolt which caused rumors saying that they are getting married because of a baby. Yesterday both of them attended a function to earn money together to prepare for the milk money. Wearing a loose shirt, Cindy gave a misconception of being pregnant.

Yesterday they were the honored guests to an opening of a jewelry store for a 6-figure amount. This is their first time earning money together and attracted many people.

Because the shirt Cindy was wearing was loose, it gave people thoughts that she is really pregnant. But Cindy denies it and Roger interrupts, "Is she pregnant? We don't know yet. We will find out a few months later. I need to work hard to prepare the milk money."

Since this is the first time Roger and Cindy is working together, the jewelry store gave them a couple necklace worth $28,000 Yuan. During the games, Roger was blindfolded and had to figure out which hand belongs to Cindy. At the end Roger had to use his nose to smell his way to Cindy's 'scent'.

Ron Ng & Sammul Chan On The Set Of "Cadets On The Beat"

TVB's new series "Cadets on the Beat" was filming yesterday on the streets of Yaumatei and Ron Ng and Sammul Chan donned their policemen's uniforms once again in a scene that tells of them soon after graduation from the Police Training School, meeting with a road rage incident, where Ron has to go and intervene. Ron indicated that the weather is too hot and he is sweating constantly, but he only has one uniform, so he has to avoid body odor by continuously changing his vest underneath. Asked about the recent news of scissors being thrown from apartments in Mongkok and Shamshuipo, injuring people below, Ron says that these incidents are quite scary, but Sammul jokes that they have the protection of their helmets and wearing a police officers uniform should deter people from attacking them.

In the show, Ron will become part of the 'blue caps' or Police Tactical Unit and he says that he was filming earlier near the Scouts Association in Jordan and some passers-by thought he was a real police officer who wanted to give them a ticket and only found out later that they were filming. Sammul indicates that there are many things that they are not allowed to do whilst wearing the police officer's uniform, for example, they are not allowed to drink or eat anything in the streets, because this will affect the image of the police. He says that earlier, he was filming in the deserts of China for an ancient series in 40 degree heat and the worst thing was wearing boots. He is used to the hot weather now, but the humidity in Hong Kong is quite hard to bear and he is glad to be wearing short sleeved clothes for this shot.

TVB Actors & Actresses Showing Off Their Great Figures, Shedding Conservative Image

TVB have always been very protective of their actors and actresses, rarely allowing them out to give sexy performances and to avoid upsetting the company, the women have always been very conservative, avoiding swimwear and bikinis. However, the situation seems to have changed somewhat this year, as leading artistes such as Sonija Kwok and Shirley Yeung have showed off their great figures in bikinis for advertising jobs in a bid to make money and with the additional revenue, TVB seems to be making allowances for both parties to earn some extra cash!

In the past, for TVB's artistes to appear in swimwear was very rare and difficult , because TVB have always taken a rather reserved approach to avoid affecting their stars' images. To avoid female artistes being taken advantage of, there were layers of bureacracy that had to be overcome and the girls had to wear tape and avoid compromising poses when they eventually got to the shoot. However, the recent changes to the policy thanks to the new leader Virginia Lok, the artistes no longer have to be wrapped up and the company has even sought some swimwear and slimming advertising work for their artistes to try and find another source of revenue for their salaried artistes.

In response to this change, many of the stars on TVB's books are united in their approval and feel that as well as making money for the company, they will also make more money for themselves, so this is a winner for everyone.

Linda Chung
The speed at which Linda has been moving up the ranks in recent years has been astounding and earlier, she wore some sexy lingerie on the catwalk and in response to the company taking on this work for her, she is very welcoming: "It is good of the company to open up because it allows us more avenues to make money as long as the outcome is beautiful and healthy. The shows that the company arranges for me are not too revealing, just a little sexy, so I don't mind."

Vivien Yeo
Also hailing from Miss Chinese International, Vivien does not mind doing swimwear shows and she feels that the changes to company policy is a good thing for artistes: "I don't mind the company arranging swimwear shows for me as long as it is pretty and healthy. As well as making money for the company, I will earn more too and the company chooses the jobs carefully and rejects any that are too outrageous. With the policy opening up and gaining more of these shows, then I will gain more experience and this is a good thing."

After winning Miss Hong Kong, Sonija has always been very careful with her body and apart from the Anniversary show, she rarely appears in sexy clothing. However in recent months, TVB has arranged a string of swimwear and slimming ads for her to show off her devilish figure and challenge the limits of her sensuality.

Shirley Yeung
TVB arranged two swimwear ads recently for Shirley, where she had to walk the catwalk in a bikini. For the usually wrapped up Shirley, this attracted much gossip, but she does not mind: "Wearing a swimsuit in the summer is nothing unusual, as long as it is a healthy look, then being a little sexy is acceptable. The company has not just arranged for me to take part in swimwear shows, I have taken part in many other fashion shows and these definitely make money for the company."

Hailing from Miss Chinese International, Fala has been wearing swimwear for her new series, showing off her great figure and she says: "I am okay with wearing bikinis and it is fine if I can make money from it. The company has a keen eye on things and they still choose very conservative swimsuits. If the script requires it, then I will wear a swimsuit, so wearing it in a show is no problem."

Bosco bared his body for a male slimming advertisement earlier and he supports the new policy totally: "Showing your body off for an advertisement is a good thing as long as the results are healthy. I am not revealing myself intentionally and it makes me more money."

Kevin Cheng
Usually displaying a suave and reserved image, Kevin suddenly showed off his body earlier and became a muscle clad man, showing off his six pack for an ad campaign and revealing his eligibility to be the latest lady killer.

Kenny Wong
In "The Dance of Passion", Kenny's 42 inch chest was on constant display and this has elevated him to the status of housewife killer and TVB have capitalised on this, not only picking up topless ads, but also pulling carts in public! He says: "It's nothing really. The company did not mention anything specifically about showing flesh or not showing it, but you can't wear clothes for a swimwear advert! If the market is there and the image is a healthy one, then it is okay."

In order to push up ratings, it would seem that TVB is also asking for some bolder performances and pushing the boundaries of decency in its series. The earliest example of this was Raymond Lam and Ron Ng in "Twin of Brothers", where their bare backsides attracted much criticism from viewers who felt this was unsuitable for their children.

Bosco Wong Chung Chak (黃宗澤) is a TVB actor, but he is also good friends with former ATV senior executive, Chan To On (陳圖安). Yesterday, Bosco was present at the Hong Kong Book Convention to support his friend’s new book. When the two of them saw each other, they immediately greeted each other happily. Afterwards, Chan To On also held Bosco by his waist and even held his hands for over two minutes, unwilling to let go.

Yesterday, the “Hong Kong Book Convention 2006″ held at the Wan Chai Convention Centre continued to be very busy and lively. Chan To On held an autograph session to promote his new book 《愛我單丁男》. Kevin Cheng took part in a BMW new car release event yesterday and wearing a cream suit, he appeared driving the new Z4 two door racing car, causing some screams from his waiting fans. Kevin reveals that his father liked BMW's a lot, so he was influenced into being a fan from a very early age. He also says that he likes this $750,000 car very much because it's exterior is very stylish and there are just two seats, so there is no room for the mother-in-law! He smiles that if the dealership will give him a good price, then he will consider buying a new car.

Kevin adds: "I like driving fast and once on an American highway, I raced my friend and we hit speeds of 200 km/h, but we ended up being chased by police cars and helicopters and were fined US$700. This is the biggest fine I have had to pay for speeding."

Kevin Cheng was the guest for yesterday's BMW conference. The company arranged for Kevin to enter the stage while driving a new race car worth 750,000 Yuan. Roger Kwok Willing To Be A ‘New Man’ For Cindy Au

Roger Kwok and Cindy Au have been dating for seven years and they are rumoured to marry at the end of the month in Disneyland. It has thus attracted rumours that they are marrying because she is pregnant. The day earlier, Roger returned from South-Korea where he has shot some outdoor scenes with Miss Hong Kong. He immediately went out with his future wife and were sweetly holding hands, walking over the street.

Roger and Cindy have been in a relationship for seven years and for many years, there weren’t any plans to marry. Earlier, the two of them suddenly spread out news of a possible marriage. It even becomes more extraordinary as they generously shared that they will get married within this year. So, it resulted in rumours that Cindy might be pregnant and thus the two of them are in a hurry to get married. In addition, Cindy also used the reason of publishing a book to ask TVB for a few months vacation. It seems to add more certainty to the news that they are getting married because of a pregnancy.

Kevin Cheng & Sharon Chan At LifeCam Function

Kevin Cheng and Sharon Chan took part in a press conference for LifeCam yesterday where they were presented awards for "Stylish Man" and "Photogenic Image". Both stars indicate that they are webcam fans, with Kevin suggesting he could use it to have lessons over the internet with his singing teacher in America. As for Sharon, she used it to keep her romance alive as her ex-boyfriend lives in Canada and she used to keep in touch with him on the internet.

Kevin will be releasing an album soon and is currently seeking a singing teacher from abroad. He smiles: "In the past I had to fly to LA, but now with LifeCam, I can use this for my lessons. (How about Lau Ka Cheung?) He is responsible for the recording and every teacher has different methods and I have kept this up." He reveals that each lesson costs US$200 to $300, so he has to keep earning more money. You also have to book a week in advance and even if you cancel you still have to pay, so he will need to think abou this carefully. With rumoured girlfriend Niki Chow about to release a new record, featuring the track entitled "Mr Question Mark" about her dream lover, Kevin was asked about this and immediately replied: "My album does not have 'Miss Question Mark' and it is a compilation of new and old songs. I have just released a new song called 'Serious Notice'. (Will you be giving a copy to Tai Si Chung?) I hope he will buy one and support me."
Sharon wore her shorts showing off her beautiful legs and she says that she is a fan of the web cam because she once used it to teach an overseas friend how to cook as well as keep in touch with her boyfriend in Canada. Asked if she has been making male friends, she says that she uses a nickname on the net and she will ignore strangers.

Bernice Liu Talking About Rainy Love Plots

In celebration of the anniversary of radio program “巴巴閉邊個夠我查篤撐”, the host Eileen Cha has organised a function about it. She has also invited eight new and popular artists including Alex Fong (Lik Sun), Ron Ng, Justin Lo, Bosco Wong, Bernice Liu, Stephanie Cheng, Stephy Tang and Fiona Sit. Together they displayed creativity as they joined forces and created an unique ‘child’s heart umbrella’ according to the theme toys of the childhood. A charity bazaar will be held during August at the APM mall in Kwun Tong with the raised money donated to a children’s foundation.

Yesterday two artists Ron and Bernice accepted an interview from the program’s host. When they talked about the sketch of their design concept for the ‘child’s heart umbrella’, both of them shared their little umbrella stories. Ron said that since he was little he liked the ‘traffic light’ game the most and thus he used it as his main theme for his designs. He expressed that he liked the game ‘traffic light’ because one doesn’t need anything to play it. One can play it anytime and everywhere with his or her friends, every time it was his turn to shout he would be delighted. When he thinks back about his childhood, he doesn’t have that many toys. Even a bicycle was a luxurious toy, therefore simple games like ‘hide and seek’ and ‘traffic light’ are his childhood favourites. Talking about stories related to umbrella’s, Ron said that he collects umbrella’s since his childhood. He will travel to different places around the world to collect attractive umbrella’s. The majority of his collection are Chinese-styled umbrella’s like handle designs of bamboo or cane. Also when he is shooting an ancient series, he will also inquire with the stage master where he could buy characteristic umbrella’s. He also said: “Actually umbrella’s don’t have to be too special as the most important is that one likes the printing. For example, I also have feminine polka dots and gentlemen’s umbrella’s in my collection.” And Bernice has chosen a ‘music chair’ as the main theme of her design because she has been introduced to music in her early years. She learned dancing, playing piano and other music instruments. She thinks that the game ‘music chair’ makes children very happy. She also thinks that this game can teach the children to connect with each other as well as establish friendships. During this program, Bernice also shared an umbrella-related story. She expressed that at her birth place it rains most of the days. Every day, the weather changes can also be very big as it could be snowing in the morning, while in the afternoon there could be a cloudburst. Therefore an umbrella is very important to her. As she often has to carry groceries over the street, she prefers small umbrella’s.

In addition, Bernice also talked about her newest series with Bosco. There will be a scene where she will walk with Bosco through the rain. Regarding to rain, she sees it as a romantic occasion. She said that strolling with a boyfriend through the rain is very sweet.

Kevin Cheng, Angela Tong At Preview Event For The New Keroro Gunso Movie

Kevin Cheng, Angela Tong and Cherrie Kong took part in a preview event for the forthcoming new Keroro Gunso movie, allowing some children to take a sneak look at the movie before it is on general release.

As Children's Ambassador, Angela says she loves watching foreign cartoons and she says she would like to do some dubbing for a cartoon character: "I have tried it before and it was a lot of fun. My voice is rather comical anyway and I would like to try some animal noises." Angela reveals that she will soon be taking a group of children to a school in the mainland to take some classes in Chinese Opera and she is confident in her own patience and thinks she will not be muddled with a big group of kids. With her 'Ah Ho' character leaving a lasting impression earlier, many of the children still refer to her as 'Sister Ho' and Angela laughs: "If I wear my false teeth, I will be even more popular. Maybe I am usually too cool, so I have been rescued, thanks to 'Ah Ho'."

Kevin was photographed earlier with a woman eating at a Central cafe and he received a ticket after parking in a restricted zone for his own convenience. Kevin says: "I like to go to that cafe, and on that day, I was meeting up with two male schoolfriends. The lady was the wife of one of my friends." He also says that he parked on the street for the sake of convenience and the fine on the ticket was more expensive than the meal, so in the future he will park it in the carpark like he should. He adds that many of his old schoolfriends have been married now and there are very few who are single left. Asked when he would be getting married, Kevin says: "Wait until I have saved enough money and met the right person first. Leave marriage to its natural course."
Kevin has been very busy recently and although filming is complete for his series "Psychic Cop", he will soon be recording for his new album as well as shooting a music video for his new song "Serious Notice" (Cheng Chung Sing Ming), with his guest partner Yoyo Mung. He says: "Over ten years ago for one of my other songs, Yoyo was the model for my video. (Has she lost her looks a little?) No she is very fresh and this is another attraction as she is more professional looking."

Raymond Speaks About Reporter Breaking Into Hotel Room

Raymond Lam Fung has always been under intense scrutiny by the paparazzi. Despite filming in Shanghai for the last half year, Raymond still could not escape the paparazzi. Last month in Shanghai, the paparazzi tried to break into Raymond's hotel room to take photos. But it turns out that the reporter broke into a crew member's room instead, making Raymond laugh.

Raymond joked that he is now like a native Shanghai boy, "At first, I was not used to the lifestyle in Shanghai. But now, my Shanghainese is quite proficient!"

"When I was filming 'New Breath of Love,' with Tammy Chen, I was originally sharing a room with a production crew member. However, there were a few scenes shot in the central city area, so to increase convenience, I stayed at a relative's house for a few days. However, the paparazzi thought I was still staying at the hotel. When the cleaning staff was cleaning the hotel room, a reporter broke inside and took some photos of the room. At that point, I was no longer staying at the hotel! I could only laugh after hearing about the incident."

"I knew that the paparazzi was following me around quite closely, but I could only let them do so! All the photos that they took were at work or when I'm eating lunch! I can't be too concerned about their behavior."

Hoping for a Long Vacation
Raymond has not had a vacation for 2 years and his biggest wish now is to have some free time off. However, his work schedule is filled until April 2007 and if he were to take a break, it would not be until the middle of next year.

In the new upcoming 40 episode series, Raymond will be acting as a lawyer. Wishing for a vacation, Raymond hopes that it will give him some free time to improve his acting and immerse into his roles better.

"Since I have been filming series back to back, especially while filming in Shanghai for 6 months, it has alienated me from the outside world. When I returned to Hong Kong, I couldn't remember the roads while driving. I felt that my [reactions] became slower. If I can take a vacation and recharge, taking in new experiences, perhaps it will increase my ability to portray characters better."

"If I were to portray a character similiar to my character in 'La Femme Desperado' again, perhaps I would be able to approach it from a different angle! Only new stimulus will lead to improvement!"

Music Album
Earlier Raymond was in Canada for a concert and the fans welcomed his performance immensely. "I have sang several theme songs in the past, so I am quite familiar with singing. I would love to release a music album, but that is dependent on [TVB's] plans. But I have continued to practice my singing skills, as I will often sing at fans' gatherings!"

Bernice & Friends At Johnni Walker's Function

Bernice Liu, Linda Chung, Annie Lau and Vivien Yeo took part in an event for Johnnie Walker yesterday and competed in a cocktail making contest, where Bernice took the winner beating favourite Linda.

Making her cocktail with fruit, mint and birds nest, Bernice indicated that her father loves to drink, so with her exposure, she won the contest. As for all her recent ads bringing in the money for her, Bernice and her parents have been out looking at apartments in the hope of moving into a larger home: "My ideal home will have to accommodate my two dogs. Earlier, I was bitten by mosquitoes whilst filming in the rural areas and my legs swelled up, but fortunately when I got home and saw my dogs, it made me feel much happier."

For Linda losing the contest, she has a lot of experience too because her father and a friend have collaborated in a wine cellar business so she has grown up there, playing in the cellars and tasting the wine. Asked if she has been keeping Ekin Cheng company whilst he has been complaining about being bored, she laughs: "I would like to work with him again, maybe later we will go out for dinner in a big group."

Jessica Hsuan, Cindy Au and Benz Hui took part in filming for quiz show "15/16" yesterday and new hosts Eric Tsang and Jerry Lamb arrived late and it turned out that this was because Jerry's son was not feeling well.

With reports that Cindy will be marrying Roger Kwok in November at Disneyland, Cindy smiled sweetly and said: "It should be this year, but we haven't decided on the location. I would prefer either Japan or America more." She says that Roger had proposed to her two years earlier: "He did not buy me a ring then, so I have to put some weight on because with fatter fingers, I need a bigger diamond." Cindy also says that having children is something she has to do.

Jessica and Benz congratulated Cindy and Jessica said: "I can retire as Roger's 'lo por jai' (wife) now because he has a real wife!"

Bosco & Tavia Plays With Water To Cool Off During Filming

Bosco Wong and Tavia Yeung were filming earlier in the Philippines for new series "Casino Crisis" in a scene where a group of girls in a beauty pageant had to parade beside the pool and although Bosco wasn't required to get into the water, behind the camera he was still playing around with Tavia in the water. "The weather was too hot there, I believe it was around 40 degrees, so as soon as I saw the water, I was very happy and after the shoot was completed, I didn't think about it and jumped into the water to cool off. Everyone thought I was a bit mad, but with the heat, you can suffer if you don't cool down. On one day when we did the blessing ceremony, I was so hot that I had to go and cool off."

Bosco has another experience of being overheated: "I had hired a coupe sports car and I thought it would be easy to drive, but it is not the case because there is no air conditioning and with the hot weather and no wind, the car was difficult to handly and it was very hard work because I was so hot." He still had a good time filming because he was working opposite comedy masters Michael Miu and Bobby Au Yeung and there were many antics: "Michael and Bobby had to film an explosion sceen that told of them both getting black from the smoke, but people didn't know and thought they had tanned so much. I laughed too when I saw their looks."

Kevin Cheng Visits 'Tongue Reading Specialist'

Lau Dan heard that herbalist and 'tongue reading specialist' Guo Zhichen was visiting Hong Kong and giving free consultations, so he notified his friends in the industry to go along for a consultation, including his 'son' from "Trimming Success" Kevin Cheng. Kevin is a firm believer in Chinese Herbal Medicine and he has had some ill health recently even fainting during filming, so Lau Dan suggested he went along for a diagnosis. Kevin says: "The doctor says that my tongue indicates that I have high blood pressure, so he has prescribed some herbs for me to regulate this, so I will try it. If I am not in good health, I will not be able to capitalise on my opportunities." Lau Dan met Dr. Guo on a chance occasion many years ago and Dr. Guo has been practicing for many decades in his home of Hebei in China.

Fennie Yuen Refuses To Discuss Past Love Rumors

Earlier in June, on Michelle Reis Lee Ka Yan's birthday, her ex-flame, Mr. Lau had spent $200,000 to place a birthday ad for her, causing much gossip in Hong Kong. Many people found the gesture to be quite romantic. In the past, Fennie Yuen Kit Ying had also had rumors with Mr. Lau. Fennie was on the show 女人的禁區 ("Women's Forbidden Area") hosted by Michelle Ye and Lui Yu Yeung and when approached by reporters to comment on Mr. Lau's gesture, Fennie refused to say much.

The show's topic was about the pain in losing a relationship. Having been in several relationships, Fennie admitted that she was the one who decided to end the relationship in most cases, so she has not experienced the real pain of losing a relationship.

When reporters mentioned Michelle Reis' birthday ad, Fennie did not wish to comment at first, only saying, "I am not afraid to discuss the matter, but it is already so many years ago. Chan Kwok Keung Clarifies Rumors With Michelle Ye & Sonija Kwok

There has been recent rumors that rich businessman, Chan Kwok Keung has lost favor in Sonija Kwok and instead has returned back to Michelle Ye's side, even purchasing a luxury apartment for her! Mr. Chan had some free time yesterday and clarified the rumors, saying that he regretted in implicating Sonija in the matter and ruining her reputation. Mr. Chan admitted he did dance with Michelle in Beijing, but did not buy her an apartment!

Mr. Chan just returned from an overseas trip with his wife. "I met Sonija Kwok and Michelle Ye at social parties and we are only acquaintances. I do not even have their contact numbers. I am only a businessman and do not possess a lot of wealth. You can say I bought a boat, car, or even airplane, but I am not the type of man to buy love with money! This type of report will hurt many people!"

Mr. Chan clarified his rumors with Sonija. "I only met her on two occasions and we did not keep in touch afterwards. I'm a man, so you should only write about me, but it's unfair to implicate her and affect her reputation!"

Reporters mentioned that Sonija was surround by bodyguards during the filming of her recent movie. Mr. Chan said that Wong Jing took care of all the arrangments and asked the reporters to say sorry to Sonija for him.

Regarding his rumors with Michelle, Mr. Chan said, "I only danced with her once in Beijing! That's how we met! You say I bought her a house; where is the address? I'm not afraid to admit it if I had done it!

TVB City Infested With Roaches & Mice; Artists Complain Of Rodent Problems

TVB's studio located in Cheung Kwan O has recently been plagued by rodent and cockroach problems, arousing avid discussion among artists. While filming "Fei Tin Hei See,"Andy Hui Chi On was so frightened by the roach problem that he was afraid to step outside the studio. Steven Ma wished that TVB would take care of the problem. TVB City is located next to a garbage junkyard and due to the recent high temperatures, it has been extremely difficult to solve its rodent problems.

The rodent problem is especially prevalent in Studios #12, 13, and 16, with mice running about freely, frightening many people.

Last night, Andy was filming in Studio #13 for "Fei Tin Hei See." When reporters mentioned TVB's rodent problem, Andy's face paled. "One time, when I was about to leave the studio, I saw a flash of black body mass run in front of me. I was so afraid, I refused to walk out the studio doors. There are especially more rodents before or after a storm!"

Steven Ma commented, "The problem could also be due to the dead bodies found in the mountain across from the studio! Also the garbage junkyard nearby is quite contaminated, adding to the rodent population. Sometimes I see roaches and rats lining up together, it is quite scary!" Steven recommended that a pest control company be called in to take care of the problem.

Bernice Liu admitted that many colleagues have been troubled by the roach population at TVB studio. Luckily Bernice has not spotted any roaches at the studio. "When I walk, I never look at the ground. Earlier when I was in China filming series, I had seen roaches of much bigger size!"

Selena Li said there are many areas within TVB City that has roach problems and teased Matthew Ko for being afraid of roaches. Matthew said that he has spotted the most roaches and rats in the parking lot.

TVB's External Affair's Assistant Director, Tsang Sing Ming, said, "Each month, TVB will employ the services of a pest exterminator, with heavily infested areas receiving treatment every few weeks. After each extermination, it is common to see more rodents exposed. There is no need for the artists to be so afraid."

There has been a lot of discussion at TVB city recently because there has been a sudden infestation of cockroaches and this is leaving the artistes with quite a headache. Most of the staff blame the nearby rubbish tip and landfill site, that has become a breeding ground for the roaches in the hot weather. The worst hit studios are Studio 12, 13 and 16 and the numbers are greatest in the drains and the outdoor prop storage areas where the mass is quite horrific.

Andy Hui has been filming in Studio 13 for his series "Lush Fields Happy Times" and talking of the roaches, his expression changed and he said: "Once, I was just about to leave the studio and I saw a big dark shadow. When I looked a bit closer, I saw that it was cockroaches and I was so scared that I daren't leave the studio. I am very afraid of them, especially when it is bad weather, when there are more of them." Steven says that they will gather in swarms at night and says: "Maybe there were some bodies dumped on the hills or maybe some body parts from the medical profession, together with the landfill site, so you see them in lines wandering around and it is quite terrifying." He hopes that the company will address this matter and as well as calling in the exterminators, they should also get some professionals to treat the area and clear them once and for all. Bernice Liu also says that her colleagues are talking about the cockroaches, but she is lucky enough not to have seen any yet. She says: "When I walk, I don't really look at the floor and I am very scared of them. When I was filming in the mainland, I saw a lot of them and their sizes were a lot bigger than the ones at TVB." Selena Li points out that there are many areas affected and laughs at Matthew Ko for being frightened. Matthew says that he saw a lot of them when he was picking his car up from the car park.

In response to the news of the infestation, TVB external affairs assistant manager Tsang Sing Ming says: "We arrange for the exterminators to come in every month and in the worst hit areas they are coming in every week. Each time we have exterminators, then there are a lot of cockroaches killed and this is very common, so our colleagues should not be too frightened."

Bosco Wong Transforms Into “Lord Min-Jeon Ho”

The sixteen Miss Hong Kong Candidates and guest performer Bosco Wong Chung Chak (黃宗澤) travelled to the Chong Dong Theatre in Seoul to continue filming. The candidates wore traditional Korean attire and was split into three groups. Under the guidance of an instructor, the candidates learned traditional Korean dances like Samgomu, Taepyeongmu, Pangut and Sogochum. In the evening, they travelled to Lotte World. The candidates filmed in front of the carousel where Korean drama “Stairway To Heaven” was once set in, attracting lots of attention from many tourists.

Yesterday, the entire crew also travelled to a one of Seoul’s “Five Grand Palaces”, Gyeongbokgung, which has 600 years of history. Bosco transformed into “Lord Min-Jeon Ho” and filmed with the candidates who were wearing their Korean attire. It almost appeared as if they are renacting “Jewel in the Palace”! Though it was raining slightly, it did not affect any of them, who were all very engaged in their work.

Melissa Ng & Sunny Chan Having A Water Battle

New TVB series “Guaranteed Love” held a promotion function yesterday and many artists attended it in beach clothing. However, the male and female lead Sunny Chan and Melissa Ng were more protective as both didn’t wear swimwear. Sunny even kept his Hawaiian shirt on all the time. Other artists like Leanne Li, Eileen Yeow and Chan Man Ching all put on swimwear with Man Ching looking the most sexy.

At the function, the artists of the series were divided into two groups where they held a water battle as they played water polo with inflatable jet skis. When Melissa got on the jet ski, she revealed her long legs. However, when she sat she was extremely careful, afraid to expose herself. Sunny was the funniest as he impatiently put on shoes to get into water, he was laughed at by Melissa who said that he usually doesn’t wear shoes when he goes out. But when he wants to go in the water, he wears shoes. Sunny explained that his wife doesn’t like him walking around barefoot. He was also the first one to fall into the water as his jet ski turned many times. It was extremely funny. Afterwards, he climbed onto Melissa’s jet ski and frightened her so much that she screamed constantly.

During the function, the producer also requested Sunny to give Melissa a peck on the cheek and the reporters requested him to do it a second time. Melissa smiled that when they were promoting abroad, Sunny also wanted to kiss her. In the end, she refused him but this time he succeeded. Asked Melissa why she is so conservative, she explained that the yesterday’s theme was Hawaii. In addition, many Miss Hong Kong’s were present, so she didn’t dress up sexily. Reporters laughed that she also came from a Miss background and she smiled that that has been n years ago. She also didn’t thought before that she will have to get into the water.

Sunny Promises That This Year He Will Succeed
Last year, Sunny expressed that they will be working hard on conceiving a baby this year, but there still aren’t many results at the moment. He said that he has fully prepared himself psychologically. If his wife really becomes pregnant, he will wait till the baby’s one month birthday to give a banquet. Asked him that there are still no results after seven months, is it possible that he might be impotent? Sunny smiled that it has nothing to do with it and it’s probably due to the stress. Melissa Ng, Sunny Chan, Kenneth Ma At 'Guaranteed Love' Promo Event
To promote new series, "Guaranteed Love," TVB held a "Wedding Proposal on Water" face-off challenge.

Cast members Melissa Ng, Sunny Chan, and Kenneth Ma, appeared in Hawaiian beach wear, while Leanne Li, Eileen Yeow and Chan Man Ching wore swimsuits.

The cast were divided into two teams and played water games. Due to the event organizer's encouragement, Sunny kissed Melissa two times. Melissa joked and said when Sunny had tried to kiss her at an overseas concert, she had refused him, but this time Sunny was finally able to kiss her.

Reporters teased Melissa and asked her why she did not dress more sexily at the event? Melissa explained that the event had a Hawaiian theme and that the Miss Hong Kong and Miss Chinese International former participants were present, so she did not wear a swimsuit. Miss Hong Kong Candidates Learn Korean At Korea University

After the 16 Miss Hong Kong Candidiates completed their filming at Jizhou, they have now headed over to Korea to continue filming. Yesterday, all of them, along with guest performer Bosco Wong Chung Chak (黃宗澤) were at the Korea University, learning the language and customs of the Korean culture. Candidates #9 through #16 even appeared in traditional Korean attire. Together with Bosco, they bowed and greeted everyone in Korean.

When the candidates appeared in swimwear a few days ago, #4 Joyce Wong Ying, really stood out, while #5 Koni Lui Wai Yi appeared in a more conversative tube top style swimsuit. When Joyce was asked whether she felt that Koni’s outfit was disadvantageous to her performance, Joyce said that she didn’t think so. On the contrary, she thought that the tube top style bathing suit really suited Koni. As for Koni, she herself also did not think that her tube top style swimwear would be to her disadvantage either. Yesterday, a group of carefully and beautifully dressed female celebrities entered TVB’s grounds to be part of the Mr. Hong Kong Competition. Among the group, Myolie Wu with her new body shape, was most eye catching. Wearing a low cut dress, her fleshy body was revealed, extremely cute!

While Myolie was eye catching because of her body size, Rosemary’s selling point was her sexiness as she wore a deep v gown. Bernice, on the other hand, who is well known for her model like body, was not dressed for sex appeal as she dressed up in a $269,000 lady like frock.

Rain Li, holding an angelic look, told reporters that as this is the first time, she is very interested to experience being a judge.

Niki Chow went to Kunming earlier to film a drink advertisement and was riding a bicycle besides a field of yellow flowers. Tomboy-like Niki actually doesn't know how to ride a bicycle, but luckily everything went smooth at the end. She said, "It's no big deal not knowing how to ride a bicycle. Kevin Cheng Is Happy To Add Another Watch To His Collection

Annie Lau and Kevin Cheng took part in a private party earlier for a watch sponsor, where they were both presented with a new designer watch. Annie says that she never used to wear watches until she entered the industry and she treats them as accessories. Asked if any men have presented her with watches, she says they haven't as she usually buys her own.

Kevin was happy that he has another watch for his collection, which he started a couple of years ago. He has seven so far and he hopes to be able to collect twenty. Kevin has never given a watch to a woman, but he says he is quite a romantic and once learned how to bake a cake to make a girlfriend happy. Talking of reports that TVB executive Virginia Lok sees him as her godson and that he presented her with an expensive watch for her birthday, Kevin laughs that he sees Ms. Lok as a big sister and they have not adopted each other. Also he cannot afford to buy her expensive gifts and would not feel right about giving her a plastic one. As for his rumoured girlfriend Niki Chow due to celebrate her birthday soon, will he be giving her a watch? He replied saying: "It is my birthday soon too!"

Gigi Lai & Kevin Cheng In New TVB Series, 'Enjoyable Life'

Gigi Lai Chi, Kevin Cheng Ka Wing, Ben Wong Chi Yin, Astrid Chan Chi Ching and Paul Chun Pui were at the costume fitting for new TVB series "Enjoyable Life"(寫意人生).

In the series, Gigi will act as a talented woman who is disabled. Her calligraphy skills are very good, but she can not use her right hand. Gigi is now training her left hand in using chopsticks and writing her own name, but have not had much success yet.
Gigi's teenage years will be portrayed by EEG's newcomer, Yuen Ka Yi. Actually, Gigi and Ka Yi's features look quite alike and Gigi mentioned that she will be taking a photo with Ka Yi for memories' sake.

Recent tabloid reports said that Kenix Kwok Ho Ying has become the third party in Hacken Lee and Emily Lo Suk Yi's relationship, but Gigi said that she has not seen the reports yet. Since Gigi had rumors with Frankie Lam at one point, then shouldn't she know Kenix quite well? Gigi said embarrassingly that her relationship with Kenix is okay.

There were additional tabloids that called Gigi, Kevin Cheng, and Sunny Chan Kam Hung "pineapple chicken" on the night of TVB executive, Lok Yi Ling's birthday, showering Ms. Lok with praise. Gigi again said she did not read the reports so she will not respond to the rumors.

Tabloids reported that Kevin has earned more than $1.74 million (HKD) from his recent slimming ad and public appearances. Kevin laughed and said he wished that he earned as much. Despite the satisfying fees, he did not want to reveal the exact amount of his endorsement fee.

TVB's new series "An Easy Life" held it's costume fitting yesterday at TVB City and cast members including Gigi Lai, Kevin Cheng, Ben Wong, Astrid Chan and Paul Chun made an appearance. Gigi will be playing a literary talent and EEG newcomer Kathy Yuen will be playing the teen version of her character. The two look quite alike, so Gigi laughs that she will have to take a photo with her as a souvenir. Kathy says she is quite nervous about working with Gigi.

Gigi says that this is the first time she has played a person with a disability. The story tells that she is an extraordinary calligraphist, but she is unable to move her right hand.
